I don’t either.

I also don’t necessarily blame him the way others do. He’s a bad coach, the record he has earned is a reflection of his quality. But honestly this five game skid is because this team is simply not good, never was good and will never be good. Three points against New England kiddos, that’s the lowest point total any time has mustered league wide this year and it happened against a shit team at home.

I don’t care who is coaching, that is a reflection of the players.

No, it is not really a reflection of the players. It is on the coaches who call the offensive plays and defensive sets. Eberflush has fucked up the defensive calls all season especially on the 3rd and long plays and that Vikes game was on exception. That OT drive was ridiculous.

He’s definitely earned his firing over his tenure. The Washington boners alone ought to Peter Principle him back to assistant for life.

He earned his firing last year. Everything since then has been has been wasted time.

That said, firing him now does nothing at all. The only functional reason to do it now is to get a look at someone else on the staff as an interim HC but outside of Brown -who is doing a good job with Caleb atm- theres no one of note. And taking Browns focus off the offense and asking him to focus on the team could have consequences in Calebs development.

People calling for his head immediately just want the anxiety of not knowing if its over to come to an end, and I get that part. But outside of that, with Williams looking better it makes more sense to just push thru the rest of the season and hope key players stay healthy and young guys like Williams continue to develop.

No this is the same smal minded Bares thinking that got us in this situation with Eberflus. Fire his ass so players like Caleb and Rom arent exposed to his/there weak ass bitch mentality thatz poisoned the lockeroom and organization. Bring in a caretaker coach who will just babysit and be a rah rah guy/person for the rest of the season. On black Monday fire everyone including poles.

Saddling Caleb with two different HCs during his rookie season, and three different OCs, sounds like a recipe for disaster, especially because that is most likely going to be three HCs and four OCs he's learned under before he even starts his second season in the league.

Once again, the Bears will begin a coaching search wherein every candidate will have to agree to play Caleb, but I think he undeniable talent and progression this year makes the situation materially different than Nagy begrudgingly agreeing to stick with Mitch because he wants to get out from the large shadow cast by Andy Reid.

Reality check time: now that Deshaun Watson is finished and Bryce Young is looking better there is a compelling argument that Caleb Williams is the worst starting quarterback in the NFL right now. Notwithstanding the shit shows in Dallas and New York, but really he’s not much better than them either.

So if a condition of the job is that a coach must play Caleb Williams you can safely eliminate most quality candidates who wont want to have their fate outside their hands. Desperate candidates? They’ll sign no matter what.

I think you give coaches a pretty fair ultimatum. The Bears just spent first overall on this guy, and yes while he is literally 34th of 36 qualifying players in net yards per attempt the hope is the right coach can maybe get through to him and the team win some games. So there won’t be any big free agent contracts or draft picks spent on the position in the 2025 offseason.

But, if at any time you think it’s not working out the Bears will trust the coach’s professional opinion and let him bench Caleb. Any time, if that’s training camp or midseason the prerogative is the coaches. And if that happens in the 2026 offseason something will be done about the position.

That’s a fair, reasonable pitch. The Bears obviously won’t offer it. It will the Caleb Road or No Road and sorry guys but Ben Johnson or Kyle Shanahan (Idk where this bullshit comes from but whatever) are just going to take one of the better jobs offered that let them pick their guy. Nobody is going out of their way to marry their fate to Caleb Williams without an escape hatch.

Well like I said, it’s just debatable whether he’s better than the Giants or Cowboys back-ups. You could easily make the argument that he’s worse. He’s only ahead of Jacoby Brissett (donezo) and Deshaun Watson (donezo) in net yards per attempt, that includes being behind Bryce Young and Gardner Minshew.

Nah you should the one that factors in the sacks. There he’s still 34th, and obviously the sacks have been extremely damaging to the team performance and are almost entirely his fault. Even JLN can admit that (or maybe he cannot!).

Its funny watching some of the hand wringing going on in here with certain posters over Calebs rookie numbers when they simultainiously defend Justin Fields ad nauseum when his rookie numbers were greatly pedestrian in comparison.

Numbers like QB rating where Caleb is 10 points higher, or the up until recently vaunted 'QBR' where Caleb holds a significant 16 point advantage lol

Not to mention the eye test with throws in almost every game that Justin just couldn't make, or Caleb throwing the Bears back into a game against the #1 defense in the NFL.

The future is bright and the desperate trolling is living on borrowed time.

Caleb Williams went 19 Quarters (first time since 05 or lomger) without throwing a TD yet the same guys that have been incorrect (like you) week after week about him show up to tell every dissenter that they are the ones that have it wrong. Based on what? Your own faulty intuition?

If someone would have told you that the Bears would be loaers of 5 -6 straight before the season you'd have said that they were haters. Or winners of only 6 games (hopefully) you'd have said that they know what they are talking about.

As it stands now the "realist" have been a helluva lot more correct about this kid than have the kool.aid drinkers. And it's not even close

And Justin went close to the same amount of time in his rookie season without throwing a TD

He also went 12+ quarters in his 2nd season without throwing a TD.. but that doesn't bother you or isn't worth mentioning because you don't actually have a standard. You just want to bitch.

Wouldn't have shocked me in the slightest. Its not like I picked them to go to the playoffs, I picked them to win 8-9 games.. and I mentioned that I thought the coaching and O-line were going to be issues prior to the season.

No to mention, Eberflus oversaw a 4 game losing streak to start out last season and ended the season prior to that with 10 straight losses for about 14 losses in a row.. guess who was QB-ing the team for all that?

But heres the thing, unlike you I actually understand context as well as the game of football and I don't blame Justin for all of that. But you? Nope, its all Calebs fault.

Like I said.. just don't actually have a standard or even know what you're talking about like you and anyone can say whatever they want lol

You've moved more goal posts than drunk frat boys rushing a college field on a Saturday afternoon after an upset.. 'he's not tall enough'.. 'look at his QBR'.. Here's the problem for you. The season has been over since the 7-8th game this year, and the Bears will be nowhere near the 9 wins which you predicted before the season started..

And while I agree that Eberflus needs to be launched, he's hardly the biggest problem that they have. Franchise QB Caleb went nearly 5 games without throwing a TD pass. The team he leads is on a 5 game losing streak with the prospects for a win nowhere in sight.

You dudes were already screaming "wait til next year" by late October on a season where the Bears were supposed to contend for a playoff spot.

Your Franchise QB can only seem to score points when he's either A. playing against shitty defenses or B. playing against a team that is playing time and score during the 4th Quarter.

Just because I'm a Bears fan doesn't mean that I have to be a fool.

You're currently chest thumping about a team that might be lucky to win 6 games this year. And a QB that has been statistically one of the worst in the league this season.

Hey Bumpy I'll have you know that I was in Orland Park this past weekend. I actually stopped off at the pancake house along the way.

I'll let you know the next time I'm in your "nape of the neck" so that you can "hopefully" pay me a visit. Deal?

Bitch you would never dare step to me ill slap you like the dumb Field's supporting bitch you are and then lay you out cold on some bench so you can have something in common with field's. The fact u never explain why Field's has as many win's as rookie quarterback's just prove's your a feminized liberal cuck who would never dare say what u say online to any one's face. Take your pancake's and shove them up your bitch ass you benched QB supporting liberal gender neutral bitch pissy.

This little tirade is rather unconvincing Bumpy. Perhaps you would like it if JLN "shows ya how it's done"? Just Asking A Question

Can I promote this matchup? You two pick a neutral site and I will document the event for the board.

Yah im sure he/they has the home field advantage if its ' neutral, that seems to his/there thing.

Listen i already made him/them my bitch by cornering him/them on his field's love. He/they cant' even explain why this uber talented QB cant win more game's then rookie quart back's. Checkmate, he/they looses, and you can help him/them get his/there ahinebox.

He also went 12+ quarters in his 2nd season without throwing a TD..

People forget that LTG also proudly proclaimed that Justin is "worth building around" and accepting "moral victories" because he "isn't a bust" as he lost 5 straight starts in his 2nd season.
