Edgy Tim expects girls flag football to explode in this state over the next 2-3 years

I think refs are going to be fighting for FF games so I hope it explodes. $77 for a varsity softball game that you have no idea how long it goes but 1.5-2.5 hours usually vs. a JV followed by a Varsity game in FF that each go 1 hour (2 20 minute running clock halves except the last 2 minutes with a 3 minute half time) for $62 each.

Only problem is the games aren't very good yet.

Put our golden retriever down this AM. She spent 8+ great years with us, was our most enthusiastic beach dog. The vets gave her three months to live in Aug of 2023 after cancer diagnosis. She lived a great last year with no real suffering till the last week or so.

Was difficult for Two Post and Three Post but reinforced the concept that we are only sad because we enjoyed her so much. They made the right acknowledgment when I said the trade off to not being sad when a dog moves on is not having a dog at all.

We were all able to take her for one last walk yesterday as a family it was great. So maybe this isn’t much of a complaint after all…

Sorry One Post. Never an easy thing to do. :( Glad you guys all got that last walk in.

We had to put our dog down in January as he went downhill quickly in a matter of days. Were thankful to be able to hire someone to come out to the house and do it at home so he wasn't scared.

Parrish, FL. Yep...fairly close to Hurricane Milton's landfall. Fortunately, we're inland enough and the house is only 2 years old, so I was unfazed by Milton. Damage was limited to 2 bushes getting ruined. I work in Bradenton and inland area was fine. We have some limited servers acting as a mini-Data Center and they remained up and running the whole time. Sarasota took it pretty good. The beach areas (as expected) got pummeled.

'merica!

Best of luck there. At least you are out of Illinois!

Thank you....been a little over year in the making. I don't think FL is perfect, but long-term I'm fairly confident it will financially be a better option. Besides that....I really am over dealing with winter.

If you are of a mind, in the coming months I'd be interested knowing how your experience there is different than Illinois, specifically traffic during snowbird season and the cost and any difficulty in obtaining homeowners insurance. Your new part of the country is one area we have considered.

We are in as good of a flood / hurricane zone as possible. Much to my surprise, we ended up with Homeowner's coverage comparable to what we had in IL. As a precaution, I did get Flood insurance, so total was $2K for the year.

I do know car insurance is a bit more, but have not lined that up yet.

I will still be on here. I have to travel back regularly for work, so I'll still get a taste of Chicago winter.

someone needs to put a quick end to this trend of men wearing pearls

women can't really respect a man like that, can they?

Who the fuck are you hanging around, first you don’t tap the Teri Garr lookalike and now you are hanging with dudes wearing pearls. This ain’t no way to have a strong pimp hand. You disappoint me again.

We would have had our Basset Hound 11 years in January, we put her down this morning. Who knows how old she was when we got her, maybe 2 but maybe as old as 4. She was the worst dog I'll ever own.

She didn't listen.
She smelled terrible.
She barked all the time.
When we got her we had a Golden Retriever at the time that maybe barked 2x a year. After 4 weeks of the Basset in the house the Golden Retriever barked all the time as a result of the Basset barking.
She ate at various times: horse shit, her own shit, other dogs shit, kids shit when they were being potty trained.
She was incredibly athletic and could jump into cars, on top of tables. She'd to the latter to steal food.
The first two years we got her she would be the first person in the bed every night. When my wife and I would go to bed I would try to move the Basset, not out of the bed, just so my wife and I could sleep comfortably. Basset would try to bite me and bark, growl at me. After the first two years she stopped trying to bite me, but would still growl to voice her displeasure at being moved.
The last 4 months her farts were so horrible that we couldn't have guests at the house.
She ate every night between 5-6 o'clock. She would bark non-stop starting at 3 o'clock until she ate.
Taking her on walks alternated between me dragging her lazy ass behind me, or her completely stopping and laying down until she decided it was time to walk again.

I'll never ever love a dog as much her.
