Great, now Pete Caroll has alleged interest. I would not be a fan of some geriatric coming in here but it might be the type of thing these boneheads do.

Yup, cannot see Chuckie having any tolerance for George and Kevin, and if Kevin is intimidated by Harbaugh he would need to have depends on when he encountered Chuckie, not gonna happen.

Seems Vrabel would have the same lack of tolerance for BS, would love to be a fly on the wall in the interview room during his initial meeting with the Bears...."Braintrust".

It will be a younger first-time coach that will unknowingly accept certain conditions, or an odd retread guy George thinks is a genius, that's been his mindset for the past couple of decades and that is why the team is now consistently at the bottom of the league.

If that 1st time guy is Ben Johnson then I’m fine with it.

Since the Bears run the Pete Carroll Defense ,it makes sense to have him as coach.
Sounds like a great idea :D

They need to shit can Poles and line up the next HC with the GM imo. Poles can’t fix this, he can’t identify talent and his only talent is his remarkable ability to just about always make the wrong decision. He’s actually better at being wrong than Pace was which is pretty wild considering how often that dude was wrong.

I’m sure he’s got interest.. but I’m not buying any of the ‘he wants the job’ talk. I think he’s gonna have some demands before he gets around to ‘wanting’ this job. I can’t see anyone with football intelligence wanting to work with this current front office. This is some ‘fire everyone’ shit we’re witnessing right now.

If Tampa Bay and Cincinnati both open up, those are much more alluring openings than McCaskeyland.

Extend Poles of fire him. You can't have a lame duck GM trying to fix this.
Obviously he should be long gone but this is the Bears

Carroll probably knows he can't see this job all the way through Caleb's rookie contract but if he brings along his replacement, it could work. Warren and George will never hire someone who would tell them to fuck off, and in this way, unbeknownst to him, Carroll is a trojan horse. Get in there, tell Warren how much you like his car, bring your prodigal OC son(I don't know who that is), embiggen the spirit, make below average in game mistakes, collect 10M and walk away with a couple of 9-8 seasons. The OC becomes HC after learning from a guy who won championships at different levels. The caveat here is making sure his replacement isn't a paint licking weirdo, but I think this plan is more likely to work than Vrabel or Johnson.

Agents put this bullshit out there to get their clients more interest. Oh boy Ben Johnson is “eyeing” the Chicago job! Yeah hopefully he doesn’t take a sniff.

Definitely think Cincy could open up. But have there been rumors of Tampa opening? He has had a pretty good run there being in playoff contention.

An upstart OC leaving a Super Bowl contender for a win-now job with a 29-year old Joe Burrow and league average cap space next year, or an even worse cap future with Baker Mayfield as the heir apparent? Doubtful.

"win now" being the expectations, not necessarily the requisite talent level of the team, meaning the upstart OC now HC gets maybe 2 seasons to produce results or risk firing and resetting his whole career. It's certainly not an undesirable destination but it's not the resplendent undiscovered country it's made out to be for an OC getting his first gig.

Joe Burrow is currently the best quarterback in the world who has lugged along a Cincinnati team to a Super Bowl once already and he’s going into the prime of his prime. You are out of your mind.

If the Buccaneers end up pissing a division title down their legs to this garbage Atlanta team, maybe. Other than Gruden, the Glazers are pretty quick on the trigger with head coaches, two or three years at best, and even Gruden fell out of favor pretty fast.

I can see Indianapolis opening up as well if Irsay is on one. That's a less attractive job than the Bears, but more than the Raiders.

Does seem that Poles is out, why else would he make the idiotic comment about realizing things were not quite right all the way back in training camp, he looks like a sad puppy that just go caught peeing on the floor.

The sad thing is that George likely hires the wrong HC and GM and we are likely doing this again in 3 years.

The Ryan Poles era will go down as an unmitigated disaster, a clown show lead by a GM that spent hours crying over cutting a marginal DB while ignoring glaring holes in his roster.
