This is the "cult" actually. Not what occurred at Soldier Field last season. A Small subset of dudes who never do anything but agree with one another no matter how asinine the viewpoint of a fellow cult member.
This was a no trainer move and had it been made the team would have been decidedly better.

They are facts. Not what you "believe". The Bears were better with Justin Fields as their QB last season. Which is why Bears fans chanted at Soldier Field for them to keep him.
And Pittsburgh was better than the Bears with him as their QB this season. Thus all of your gibberish about who is a backup is malarkey..You advocated for the guy that is currently one of the worst QBs in the league to be their QB and it failed miserably To the point where you have to advocate for the "messiah coach" to come in and save him. And when Johnson doesn't sign, you'll be back to blaming ownership for failing to get the guy you wanted.

The Bears were on an upswing with Justin Fields as their QB. Which is why REAL BEARS Fans (as opposed to internet trolls) wanted them to retain him. Instead they didn't and now it's back to the same ol gibberish. Bitching about ownership, coaches and trolling Packer fans.

with that line of logic, the Bears should sign Wilson. After all, he beat Fields out of a job with Tomlin making that decision, so Bears, go sign Wilson to be your backup and if Williams sucks next year, Wilson will lead the Bears to 2024 Steelers heights. Think that's a good call? Heck, Fields might be available next year.

Wilson would have been better than Caleb this season too.

They were not. I don’t think you have any idea how they won games last year. Or more importantly who they beat and how they lost winnable games. It’s the only G rated way to explain your affection for Fields.

Gibberish about Fields as a backup? He’s a backup. That’s not an opinion.

You’re ignoring that I wanted Johnson while Fields was here. This isn’t about fixing Williams. Yes, if the Bears run out and hire an underachieving retread, I’ll comment on it. As will most REAL BEARS FANS.

Didn't know this :

Freeman is only being considered because it's Notre Dame. There's no reason to interview him over say Kirby Smart or Ryan Day or JIM HARBUAGH or any other more successful college coach. It's just the classic Bears -ND connection.

Just assume Trace Armstrong is involved somewhere.

It’s pretty obvious that Mike McCarthy is their number one focus. New Orleans is going to in on him too I’d imagine, I don’t like their chances against NO any more than I liked their chances against NE for Vrabel or Oakland for Johnson.

This job is radioactive. It and the Jets are terrible, but at least with New York you can pick your guy at QB.

He's currently a "backup" who outperformed the Bears starter. So what does that say about the Bears starter? :

You go and get McCarthy because he is an offensive mind with a proven track record of winning. He also has a proven track record of developing young QBs

Don't feed the troll. Your sanity will be much better if you let him roll around alone in his Field's manure.

He knows if Justin was starting caliber in his 6 games with the Steelers and last year with the Bears that the Steelers would be racing to lock him up to a long term contract. Tomlin is exploring other options because he knows Justin is not the answer. If he was he would have been starting the Wild Card game and had more then 1 pass.

Justin Fields will be someone's starting QB next season. And then he'll be bitching and making excuses as to why. Just as he did for Caleb Williams as soon as he had to play in NFL games.

They "replaced" him with the dude whom they designated to be their starter in March and again prior to the start of the season. Which is counterintuitive. And whether he was starting or backing up he still outperformed "Generational Caleb".

It beats those who thought that the "greatness" of! Caleb was a "slam dunk"

I promise if Caleb is as bad as Fields was by year 3, I won’t spend the next year sucking him off while he rides the pine in the AFC.

The funny thing is that exact argument, but with a G rating, is what got me the nickname Brick McCarver.

All your "logic" has done is placed the Bears in a much worse position at the conclusion of this season than they were in at the conclusion of last season. Congrats!

They are in a far better position. They aren't paying the Steelers backup who is likely not being brought back $40 million a year. Williams may fail. Fields already failed in Chicago. They avoided the Cutler malaise with Fields but Cutler was better than Fields.

To do what? Trot out one of NFL's worst offenses despite having some of its better receivers? Lose games in the Double digits in a non tanking season?

Justin Fields is going to spend the offseason begging bad teams to give him a chance to compete for a starting job at a cheap rate. The Bears could be paying him $40-$45 million a year to be the starting QB when he may not be capable of being a starter anywhere but Cleveland next year.

I would argue that they could cut Williams now and it would be a better situation than having Fields as the future Bears starting QB.

While this all sounds jazzy to the internet trolls on here, it's all just gibberish. Justin Fields will sign to be someone's starter next year. If you don't believe it, then put the bread up. Because after all he's "Just A Backup" remember

You’re bolding & giggling that he’ll have to try to get a job with a bad team.

Do you think this starting role is going to be with a good team?

He may start for a bad team that drafts a rookie and doesn't want him to have to start from day one. Otherwise, it's the Browns that are basically just counting down the decade until the Watson contract is gone.

Justin Fields is a poor mans Gardner Minshew. I'm ecstatic that the Bears aren't paying him $40 million a year for that.

There’s no caveat. I think he could be a starter for a team with a bad QB situation.

The idea that he’ll have to find one of those jobs in the offseason seems obviously correct and not worth emojis.

Actually, Fields may start for the Browns next year is quite the flex.

He’s literally a backup. Backups go to other teams and start pretty regularly. The guy who started most the year in Pittsburgh was a backup in Denver by the end of last year.

Just name a good team you think he’ll start for. You want to go with Atlanta again?

The idea that he’ll have to find one of those jobs in the offseason seems obviously correct and not worth emojis.
"Seems correct" to whom? Internet trolls in need of another narrative to promote after their latest attempt at lucidity blew up on them?

Just name a good team you think he’ll start for. You want to go with Atlanta again?

There is a lot of "pivoting" going on here all of a sudden.

I think he could be a starter for a team with a bad QB situation.

Since when? He was a month away from signing to be someone's starting QB? Up until then he was "Just A Backup"
He’s literally a backup. Backups go to other teams and start pretty regularly. The guy who started most the year in Pittsburgh was a backup in Denver by the end of last year.

I love how terrified you get to actually stake out a position that isn’t purely hypothetical.

It’s endearing in its own small way.

"Terrified" I offered to put bread up months ago and the Ali shuffle started just as it is now

Why did you copy & paste a post of me making a consistent argument as a defense for how scared you are to name the team(s) you think he’ll start for?

To illustrate how silly of an exercise this happens to be. Now there are "contingencies" after months of yelling "He's Jutst A Backup" You dudes are jokes.

Either you believe the things that you say or you don't. And in this instance it's clear that you don't.
I'm copying and pasting again to further illustrate the point of how silly this is.

You’re bolding & giggling that he’ll have to try to get a job with a bad team.

Do you think this starting role is going to be with a good team?

Now he isn't a "starter" unless he's a starter for a "good team"

He’s literally a backup.

I’m starting to think you don’t know what that means.
