will watch tonight's canada x sweden game. thinking that it will be a 6 nations tournie in the future, with russia and the czech rep. added- once russia gets out of the world's doghouse.

not so sure about finland's depth at D, canada's G quality and the usa losing quinn hughes. no real margin for error, 3 games. canadian PP is unbelievable.

this has to be better than any snooze-fest all-star game and been reading that players are pumped for this. hopefully, we'll get entertaining hockey.

I can only watch the games on ESPN+, so it's USA v Finland for me tomorrow night and then Finland v. Sweden on Friday. I'm expecting the latter game to be a playoff atmosphere.

despite a 3-3 game after 60 mins, the game didn't seem to have a good pace to it. sweden couldn't put 2 passes together to get into the o-zone. the canadians scored 20 seconds into their only PP and the swedes scored a dodgy goal or two to get it to 3-3. the overtime was fantastic...10 mins of OT with all this collective talent on the ice at 3x3, likely no shoot-outs. marner was quiet, stepped up and scored in OT. crosby showing us that he has eyes on the back of his head. some great assists.

hellebuyck with all the pressure...we'll see how he and the usa handles the favorite role tonight.

enjoyed the game last night. Expect the pace to pick up as team's start to get into the tourney. Very much looking forward to tonight. Fins are by far the weakest team, but the Fins always find a way to play above their weight class in international tourneys.

Very much fired up for Saturday night!

let's see what they can do against the mighty usa.

that was an awesome 3rd period for the US. Game shifted when coach put the Tkachuks together with Eichel.

Can't wait for tomorrow!

yeah, not much from finland. hung in there for awhile, even had the lead. couldn't go from strength to strength. finland already had the lightest depth at D, injury to dallas' heiskanen didn't help hem at all for this tournie.

laine with some great looks, but only 1 shot got through (barely missed the far post) on the PP with that hammer one-timer. the finland coach has to make an accommodation or two for him, does nothing else on the ice for them. 10 his 12 goals this season for the canadiens have come on the the canadien PP.

Canada is going to struggle against the Tkachuk-Eichel-Tkachuk line. I also think Binnington will be a liability for them in goal.

My only concern is the injury and absence of Quinn Hughes. He was our answer to Canada's Makar. Without him we don't have anyone who can fill that elite puck moving D man role. Last night the D for US did look a little shaky in that dept at times. I thought Fox would be the guy, but he looked awful.

That's just me nitpicking from last night.

finland beats their main rival in overtime. teuvo with barely over 6 mins of ice time - not sure if he was hurting/injured. no word.

swedes shaking their heads at their G situation. the wild's gustavsson pulled after 4 shots and 2 goals against.

canadian and canadiens fans get a chance to boo the star spangled banner in a few hours. how dopey were they cheering for finland against the usa?

What in the world is P.K. Subban wearing? Zebra? It looks like a Peter Griffin outfit.

He was trying to pay homage to a legend.

If Canada wasn't such a pussy country, Don Cherry would still be working.

I appreciate PK trying to honor Cherry, but he isn't even in the same universe when it comes to commentary.

real good chance the usa and canada will meet up again in the final. difficult to beat them twice in 60 mins, could be an ot game. will the usa and bruins fans torch the canadian national anthem?

watched some canadian stuff and they're already wondering why bennett over schiefele and binnington over aidan hill. right now, i'd be more worried about makar, will likely play against finland, had/has the flu. usa D was great last night. hate the bruins, got to give credit to mcavoy and slavin. they really stood out on the PK. so far, so good with hellebuyck.

I'm not shocked Canada is underperforming. They built a pussy roster and forgot hockey is a contact sport. Meanwhile the USA brought guys who actually know how to deliver hits and finish a check. I loved the first 10 seconds where they basically decided to reenact Slap Shot.

The Tkachuk Brothers put on the foil

That’s exactly what has made this fun—quietly, hockey is back. It’s been great this season.

I think this honestly signals a shift in hockey away from some of the advanced analytics and back to the idea that you're supposed to bury your opponent into the boards. I'm 100% for it (points to username)

Be careful what you wish for. We can't go back to the Dead Puck Era.

I do think the analytics-based emphasis on short shifts and shot-chucking has been detrimental in its own way. There's a lot of artistry that gets stripped away when you can't stay on the ice, control possession, and set up a good shot.

That was some of the best hockey I have seen in ages, the entire game was high energy. Team USA was outstanding, props for the refs letting the game flow the way it did

very excited for today's double header. We'll see what type of effort USA puts out with a spot in teh final already clinched. And a loss to sweden will give htem an easier opponent in the final.

I'm glad we already clinched because it makes it easier to sit Matthew Tkachuk and get him healthy for Thursday

all eyes on the canada score. i believe the usa will give it's 4th and 3rd lines more minutes and we'll get more of faber and hanifin on D. maybe sanderson gets a game in on D.

Don Cherry would've had an epic rant after Saturday's game.

Thursday's USA vs Canada championship is probably going to be the single best sporting even for 2025 in any sport.
