It's a simple thing for me. But I love it. It means Spring is here. I'm seeing sparrows and I saw a couple of Cardinals.

You know what's amazing? They never left for the winter. They just fucking survived it. Give birds credit. They can survive 10 degrees temperatures or lower. Weighing 1 pound with just feathers as cover. Nobody ever gives birds credit for this. I do. I think it's amazing.

In other news... Grass is growing!!!!

It's a simple thing for me. But I love to sit on my deck and watch the grass grow. Give grass credit. Dogs shit on it. The sun burns it. Rain floods it and the snow covers it. Still finds a way to grow every year. Nobody ever gives the grass credit for this. I think it's amazing!

Mock me all you want. I find it amazing that we were at 0 degrees a week ago. Now I'm seeing birds. It's not like they traveled here from the south knowing the weather was gonna be good.

They were always here hiding in bushes. It's amazing to me. Maybe not to you. But it should be.

I saw a robin last week and thought that was very early, but they know better than we do.

I understand that. Nor do robins and sparrows. I just marvel at the fact that these little fuckers survive the winter. That’s all.

What is even more remarkable (to me, anyhow) is the thousands of miles hummingbirds migrate twice a year. Winter in Costa Rica, summer in Wisconsin. What a life.

Quote:
Each year, hummingbirds embark on two migrations – one north and one south. These migratory journeys, which can span hundreds or thousands of miles, require immense preparation and a shocking amount of energy from these small birds - the smallest in the world. Their spring migration north, from South America and Mexico up to Canada, is a solitary journey with the goal of getting to their breeding grounds early enough to claim the best feeding territories. With that sort of pressure, this hummingbird migration can begin as early as February in Mexico and finish in mid-May in Canada and Alaska.

The fall southern hummingbird migration follows a similar timeframe. Hummingbirds can set out as early as late July and the last stragglers will cross the southern U.S. border by late October. It’s this amazing cycle of hummingbird migration that can also bring a sudden swarm of activity to your hummingbird feeders. If you have a well-maintained hummingbird feeder, expect plenty of new visitors as they try to boost their energy before the next stage of their journey.

And people still call Chicago a cold weather city  Winter began late-December and ended February 25th. How much snow did the city get in that span? 10”?

No need for a dome imho.

Not a granpa. Not even a dad. As far as I know.

Algough, it's possible I might be both.

I was in Mexico when I was 19. Banged a hooker. Only $150. Mexican girls are better with the price then our fucking Americans girls

Anyway, no condom. And she was Catholic. We discussed that in the pregame. You know Mexican Catholics, they don't get abortions. So maybe I am a father.

I did have one thought during the flight back. If she came to term, I would hope the boys name would be Jose. And if it was a girl, I would hope she had named him Maria. Both good Catholic names.

Whatever. I'm half Polish. So he or she is 25% Polish. Which means he or she is 25% stupid.
