This something interesting I learned today that the former headquarters of the COLTS football team was in downtown Skokie IL because of the former Colts owner Robert Irsay was from Chicago.
Quote:
Robert Irsay built much of his wealth from an HVAC company he founded in 1951 and operated for twenty years; after selling it he purchased the Baltimore Colts in 1972. Despite the team existing in a different state, a good portion of its offices was located at this nondescript office on Lincoln Avenue in Skokie. Instead of packing up and leaving, Irsay brought much of his work to a more convenient location in Skokie. Indianapolis Colts, Inc. and Baltimore Football, Inc. were both registered in Skokie.

Not quite the same, but when the Rams moved back to L.A., we learned that apparently this whole time, John Shaw had been working out of a dingy little time capsule of an office in Century City the whole time the team was in St. Louis. Also, pretty sure the Carolina Hurricanes were run out of an office park in suburban Detroit when Peter Karmanos owned the team.

I had an office in that building. Most people don't believe it when you tell them it was the Colts headquarters.
