Last couple of years Steve Stone pivoting from a quality analyst to a comical shill making excuses, short-term sample size praising, and constantly repeating the future looks bright when it doesn't.

On the plus side, Stoney doesn't have to listen to Benetti attempt to talk with half an Italian beef in his mouth anymore.

At this point, I would just like a White Sox prospect to come up and put up an OPS that's consistently over .750. The last two guys to sustain that level for more than two years were probably Anderson and Abreu.

It would be comical if John Schriffen and Steve Stone revisited their early takes on White Sox players who worked hard in the offseason and were coached up to now have it figured it out how to excel. It's obvious the guys they talked about don't have it figured out .

it's also gonna go back to where the spread will be -2.5 for the other team just to get -120

Hilarious reading white Sox Twitter where Meidroth is the next arod and Quero is Johnny Bench. Meidroth already down to .235 and sucking. Waves and waves.

The averages for the 2-3-4 hitters the Sox are trotting out there:

Robert
.136/.235/.203
Vaughn
.138/.188/.262
Vargas
.149/.240/.209

No, but his current partner is often shoving his foot inside his mouth. Amirite?

e.g. recent call:

At this point I think I would prefer to watch Benetti read from the Bible while eating a beef sandwich on a loop than have to watch this current team and broadcast booth. Schriffen is still unlistenable and Stone doesnt have it anymore so it’s probably best they aren’t on anyone’s tv. There isn’t one thing this organization does that isn’t awful and there’s no hope in sight.

Exactly my point. He is probably a very disciplined hitter, will draw walks/take pitches, but it's an open question as to whether he can hit.

Walks are fine but it has to go along with 30 doubles. A .409 OBP means nothing to me when it goes along with a .225 slugging. I don't want to see it, nobody but a computer geek wants to see it.

With a .409 OBP and a .225 slug, a baseball team would score 5.37 runs per game over a season. I put those stats into the Google stats Monte Carlo model, and that is the expected outcome (ten billion simulations). Further, I projected that with an average pitching staff. It equates to an expected 112.4 wins over a 162 game regular season, and a World Series Title of over one in three years.

Now that assumes that every hitter on the team has a .409/.225. So yeah stats geeks would love it.

It doesn't surprise me at all. But, like Grandal, who looked for walks, guys would just start throwing it down the middle and the next thing you know, he's out of baseball having only one skill. Framing. Which I'm sure the sabremetrics puts him as a top notch catcher despite the fact he can't catch a baseball.

Starting pitching matchup isn't great but it's a good night to fire against the White Sox. See a lot of Boston -1.5 at -105.

I don't get correlations on run line and moneyline. How is a -105 possible with a -230 moneyline?

I watched most of Royals at Tigers tonight, Benetti and Dan Petry are a good combination. Petry isn't as condescending as Stone can be, so I think he and Benetti have a smoother broadcast. And there is no Sox Math.

35 - Dodgers home runs
35 - White Sox extra base hits

Does he spend portions of the broadcast chomping on various fried foods with his mouth open like a disgusting farm animal?

I remember when he was told it was disgusting and it turned into "he looked disgusting". I was going to be fake outraged at this fake quote until I realized that yes, he also 'looked' disgusting shoveling food into his piehole.
Even so, that wasn't what everybody's beef was with Jason and I still haven't heard on air anywhere what really was grating to the listeners.

Schrifffen is a big homer, but we sat through decades of Harrelson, who was just about as big of a homer. I still prefer him to Benetti.

Like Hawk, Schriffen's homerism is grating because he's not even from here. If they replaced him, he'd go do the same act somewhere else. I wish both teams could find some local voices. It shouldn't be so hard.
