Another debate I had with a fellow patron at the local Bowling alley bar made me want to ask you guys the same question.

We were arguing about what band was the most disappointing. This could viewed many different ways. Off the top of my head was Guns N Roses but they had a couple OK albums after Appettite. The other one I thought of was Boston but its been awhile since theur first and their second could have been worse. I will admit to liking Creed especially their first but they had three big selling albums. they just broke up.

My biggest dissapointment would have to be Candlebox. Their first album in '93 was great from top to bottom. Their follow-up (Lucy) sucked. I dont know what happened to them. One year they're on Letterman and the next they're on Milk cartons.

Traveling Wilburys. After Orbison died, all they had left were a bunch of hacks and guys that were left over from other bands.

Good topic, Mr. B. And Boston is a fine choice. Their debut album was a smash and they never matched that feel again. I punch the button now when I hear any Boston, but I'm pretty sure Boston's first record remains in the Top 10 albums in sales.

I've stated my case on Rush several times. Their '70s stuff was much more soulful and endearing than '80s and '90s stuff. Feel the same way about Aerosmith.

REM is an interesting topic for discussion. I label them a musical tragedy. REM was one of the best produced acts in the last 20 years. The guys on the other side of the glass had well trained ears and the act just sounds really, really tight. And I love Stipes' voice. Commanding. Big presence. Thing is, a high percentage of their lyrics don't move me. For every "Rockville," there were a half-dozen "Pop Songs." And I like Pop Song... just not real meaningful. If Stipes had more vision and wasn't such a flake, REM could have done so much more and meant so much more.

Urge Overkill peaked with Saturation and never came close again. John Mayer continues to dissapoint by wasting his guitar playing skills on wuss rock.

I vote for rogers park bryan as the most disappointing poster of all time for even mentioning John Mayer's name on this board.

He's got a point though.

I dunno what I would say is the most dissapointing, but 2 of the most dissapointing concerts I've seen was Neil Young and Tom Petty

Im comfertable enough with my masculinity to mention John Mayer. He is a very talented guitarist. This is not my opinion alone but many who play guitar. John Mayer Trio rocks. His work on the Chapelle show is good too.

I stand by my original statement.

I thought Exit the Dragon was about as good as Saturation. After that, I lost track of them, with the exception of "Girl, You'll be a Woman Soon" in Pulp Fiction and when they sang the Star Spangled Banner in Kingpin.

Agreed Spaulding.. It appears that Billy blames Eddie Vedder for the Cubs pissing down their pants leg in the playoffs and the reason the Cubs lost is that Vedder wrote a song about the Cubs and called him an a-hole for not living in Chicago.Page 58 in the Sun -Times. :P

If your calling Eddie an a hole your calling Slappy an -asshole. http://www.kodakgallery.com/Slideshow.j ... 4244722210 :P :P :P

I wonder what Billy thinks of all the old Cub fans that live in Arizona who's best moment of the year is saying hi to Ron Santo at Spring Training?

Milli Vanilli.

How do you go from an Grammy for best new artist of the year to fraudulent lip syncers to half the band committing suicide?

;)

Off topic I know...but I saw the Cars in concert back in the mid 80's...sat in the rain at Popular Creek...and it was the worst live show ever. They did not say one word to the crowd...came out & played every song just like you heard on the radio, barely moved on stage,... then left. I could have just put the cassette in my "boom box" and had a better experience.

Fuck the Cars.

GNR had 3 good albums, so I wouldn't qualify that as disappointing. But they sure trailed off quick.

Another one was Faith No More. Epic and Angel Dust were great... I think they made a couple more, but never got any radio play.

Guns N' Roses, without a doubt. Their 1987 debut CD "Appetite for Destruction" was really rockin', but Axl Rose seemed to take way too much control of the band after awhile. I also think other band members had enough of Axl's act after they fired Steven Adler for alleged drug use, not to mention when Izzy Stradlin left the band right around the release of 1991's "Use Your Illusion I & II". Axl also seemed to act like a real jerk and it seemed to take forever to release the long-delayed "Chinese Democracy", which is now in stores.

I really don't get the Chicago celebs with the "Im a pain in the ass" attitude. Kanye West has been nothing more than tool in the Hip-Hop world this past year and need we say more about R Kelly who rather piss and crap on his dates the actually have sex with them and is as much as a pain in the ass as Kanye is. So the brothers are well repersented as any other Chicago pain in the asses as much as Vedder , Corgin , Kusak, Piven and any other Chicago blowhard that I have missed.

I just hope Obama does us proud!!!
