Yep. Hiding behind the perceived ineptitude of the franchise (particularly one that won 7 games the year before he arrived) is some of the weakest shit that he and his entourage could have pulled. The Bears provided that bum with more than enough talent to succeed. If he were that dude he would have last season. Daniels accompliahed much more with much less and Washington has been a much worse franchise than the Bears.

It just seems like it is 1 excuse after another with this kid. Time to put or shut up this year. No excuses

Quarterback Caleb Williams was so concerned about being picked by the Chicago Bears in 2024 that he and his family weighed circumventing the entire NFL draft, consulting with lawyers to figure out a way around the league's collective bargaining agreement while considering signing with the United Football League, details from a forthcoming book reveal.

"Chicago is the place quarterbacks go to die," Carl Williams, Caleb's father, told Seth Wickersham, author of "American Kings: A Biography of the Quarterback," in the months before the 2024 draft.

It's also kind of funny there is a scenario where Caleb Williams really wants to not get drafted by the Bears and Drake Maye would be desperate to be drafted by the Bears.

You have to imagine Maye is dreading the chance that he falls to #3 and New England. It's a worse situation than the Bears and the fans are used to winning Super Bowls every few years.

where does William think he’s going to go that ls going to be a better situation than the Bears right now? New offensive coordinator who has had success developing and running a good offense , the ninth overall pick in the draft which would get them another offensive weapon or a good lineman. A top 10 defense. Who else has a better situation for him to walk into than that?

There isn't one. Being great in Chicago would be better for his brand. What I've gathered from HIS OWN WORDS is he loves a challenge. He's not LeBron.

As opposed to him saying " I hate a challenge".

I'm happy for him he has his cliches and talking points down to a science. But alas, it doesn't mean squat.

Nope it doesn't. The mere fact that he waited til the very last minute to declare for the draft is enough to suggest that he doesn't want to play for the Bears.

If he had another season as bad as his last at USC and with the cultural shift he would’ve been in Shadeursville in the 2025 draft. In fact, I’m pretty sure Caleb’s horrific first year and litany of personal issues (which are just now trickling out into public knowledge) are part of the reason Shadeur slid.

Don’t forget the most damning aspect of his entire first year. Only two coaches were even allowed to TALK to Caleb Williams: Eberflus & Waldron. Whose rule do you think that was? This shit is going to go really bad, really fast. I wonder if Johnson will try and bench him.

It’s over. He’s your guy, so you either hop on board or fuck off. No point in fighting lost battles.

Hope he does well. If he doesn’t, he’ll go into year 3 with the Mitch/Fields strategy and be benched for whoever is the future McGowan by week 6.

Then Johnson jumped ship a year too late and he’s not the guy either.

Still won't be allowed, but it's gonna get ugly nonetheless.

It was obviously a huge mistake to not take the job last year. Johnson got bounced in the first round with Detroit and the Bears missed out on a generational quarterback talent for a total bum. If he could go back he would 100%.

He could still be a good hire though. It starts with dumping Caleb, which won’t be easy. George will be hugely resistant.

This is bordering on hoping-China-wins-the-trade-war stuff.

It’s better to be happy than right.

See this is just another example of you throwing shit against a wall. You have nothing to back this up. Johnson was a highly sought after coach last offseason and decided to wait to take his shot until this offseason. He did what many of us thought he would never do and that was want to be the Bears HC. I have a real hard time thinking he was willing to take his shot now and yet he picked a place that did not have a QB to his liking.

You can’t just dump a 1/1. It’s a long, slow process that sets a franchise back 10 years and a few coaches.

Bryce Young almost got dealt at the deadline last year.

I don’t think he quite knew what he was getting into with Caleb Williams. Now he does and the shit is starting to get flung in every which direction…and TC hasn’t even started yet.

Caleb’s attitude is horrible but the media covers for it because he paints his nails and they don’t want to let him get labeled a “diva”.

Yeah I’ll still be vehemently opposed to them getting a new building when they currently play in the ninth newest NFL stadium, but I will at least be able to root for them to win games again. I cannot pull for a piece of shit like Williams. I’d rather root for a criminal like Mike Vick.

He didn’t. And the panthers suck and will continue to suck.

I still can't get out of my head the look of pure emotional annihilation that Williams displayed when he...got intercepted. This team embarrassed itself week after week and that was what broke him: a trivia question.

The scores takeaway this afternoon was that the Bears didn't teach Caleb how to watch film the correct way.

Also his reaction to Rome Odunze not giving him the ball for his choreographed celebration for his first ever pro touchdown. Then Odunze is on his shit list the rest of the year, which I suppose could have as much to do with Rome Odunze being absolutely mid as it could be Caleb vindictiveness.

so yes, you are that bad at recognizing laughter in human beings.

Rooting for the team to lose and the #1 draft pick in year two to fail is definitely what normal fans that aren't projecting their crackpot theories onto a professional football team do.

Kind of like 47's administration setting this country back at least one generation.
