I am pretty sure that Burnes has a no trade clause, since he picked Arizona to be able to be with his wife and their newborn child.

DeGrom would be amazing for a playoff run. It would cost them Cassie, Ballesteros, and Brown, but if they want to go for it this year they would need to pull the trigger and deal with the inevitable 2029-2030 rebuild.

I'd be absolutely fine with sending those 3 guys for DeGrom. He's owed roughly $40 million each of the next two seasons ('26 and '27). That would make him the highest paid pitcher in Cubs history after Jon Lester. And Lester received $25 million a year :lol: Maybe the Rangers can eat some of the money?

Sale would be awesome too. I know Acuna is back. It is baseball though. Anything can happen.

Remember the saying JUNE SWOON. Well we're seeing it a week early. They lucked out playing the Rockies earlier this week where they didnt really need to hit much to win. Now today's game vs the Reds, totally dominated. The Cub hitters looked disinterested all game.
