CB, they used the term Shawsome tonight in case you want to add that to your repertoire. It is your year.

The question is going to be what they can turn Caissie, Alcantara, and Ballesteros into? None of them have a full time job open on this roster until 2027, and we don't even know if there will be a 2027 season given the CBA expiration at the end of 2026.

Theo turned Gleybar Torres into three months of peak Aroldis Chapman, but Torres was a top-5 MLB prospect. Let's see if Jed can turn this threesome into a couple of key pieces to contribute in 2025 and 2026.

I'm rooting against the Braves these next 2 months. Chris Sale would be a fantastic addition. $18 million club option next year and then off the books at age 38 heading into the '26 - '27 offseason. Corbin Burns would be excellent as well if the D-Backs keep sucking. DeGrom is probably too expensive for Jed.

I am pretty sure that Burnes has a no trade clause, since he picked Arizona to be able to be with his wife and their newborn child.

DeGrom would be amazing for a playoff run. It would cost them Cassie, Ballesteros, and Brown, but if they want to go for it this year they would need to pull the trigger and deal with the inevitable 2029-2030 rebuild.

Didn't know that about Burnes. Good for him.

I'd be absolutely fine with sending those 3 guys for DeGrom. He's owed roughly $40 million each of the next two seasons ('26 and '27). That would make him the highest paid pitcher in Cubs history after Jon Lester. And Lester received $25 million a year  Maybe the Rangers can eat some of the money?

Sale would be awesome too. I know Acuna is back. It is baseball though. Anything can happen.

Cubs were off yesterday in the middle of a fuckin homestand. These are usually the days where they like to be out on the prowl.

Anybody know what any of the Cub players were doin'??

Anybody spot any of 'em hanging out in person anywhere??

Remember the saying JUNE SWOON. Well we're seeing it a week early. They lucked out playing the Rockies earlier this week where they didnt really need to hit much to win. Now today's game vs the Reds, totally dominated. The Cub hitters looked disinterested all game.

Ashcraft covered his whole face with his glove to scream a buncha expletives as he walkin off the mound

Normally they cover their mouth or part of their face, but this was his whole face

U gotta wonder why Francona used the fucker in the critical 8th. He got touched up twice last weekend and also pitched yesterday. If it was extra innings, fine.

Elly De La Cruz (2½ years) and Tony Gwynn (20 years) both have 434 strikeouts.

They’re down to attacking Wrigley Field. The subdivision is grasping at straws.

THe fact that it is June and the Cubs and Cards have not played yet is stupid.

I really dislike this scheduling. I guess it was nice that the Cubs played the A's so I could see the Sacramento shitshow for myself, but I don't need this much interleague in my life.

Nationals have been playin' good ball lately.

They just came home from a 4-2 West coast trip where they won some wild high-scoring games.

2 of 3 at Seattle and 2 of 3 in Arizona. Won in Seattle with 6 runs in the 10th or some shit.

Dont sleep on Call. He hit a game-winnin' homer 2 years ago vs the Cubs in the getaway day game. Let's see what he does tomorrow.

Hard to believe Andrew Chafin is still around.

Cubs gave up on him too soon.

You should have done the bit from Family Guy where you hire a guy to follow him around playing whimsical tuba music.
