I don't think Stern was on when Matthews was doing nights. I thought Matthews was doing nights in the mid-late 80s when he first got in town then moved to middays around 87 or 88 and Chet's show went on at night after that move.

I don't remember Stern even being on in this market until the mid-90s.

I want to say it was 93, but I could be wrong on that Dr.

Doesn't matter, we all suck in his eyes anyways since we didn't pony up hundreds of bucks just to hear him say "Fuck."

Doc, Howard Stern actually bounced around this market in the early '90s before settling on the former WCKG in the mid '90s under CBS Radio/Infinity Broadcasting management. While Howard's show was #1 in New York, Washington, Philadelphia & Los Angeles if memory serves, he was NEVER #1 in Chicago, but did crack the Top 10 in the Arbitrons on a couple of occasions in morning drive. While Stern vowed to be #1 in Chicago when he did sign on, he never came close to the late Bob Collins, who was this city's #1 morning man until his tragic death in that suburban plane crash in 2000.

i think youtube and the howardstern fan web sites make it pretty easy to not have to listen now and still get a lot of great material.

however i do miss the rambling sessions, and the news.

my friend has sirius and he gives me updates sometimes. i think it's still the best show in radio.

And Ed Tyll (you may not like what he says, Ed Tyll) starting doing nights after Coppock sometime around there.

What was Chet doing reading the traffic during breaks on the Kim Komando show this past Saturday night? Strange.

What were YOU doing listening to Kim Komando?

BTW, Ed Tyll was god awful. His tag lne should have been, "Creating controversy where none exists."

Well, what's obviously happened here is, somebody has HACKED into my account and is posting under MY NAME.

I can give you some good suggestions on buying a digital camera though.

I thought the glory-days lineup was Brandmeier mornings, Matthews middays, Steve & Garry afternoons. I dunno, before my time.
