The reason I mentioned the AIC is because I hate hate hate Man In a Box
and Angry Chair, both of which I had the misfortune of hearing today.

The only 2 AIC songs I ever liked were the Singles soundtrack song, and Them Bones.

I can't stand Layne's voice, I think the drummer sucks, and did I mention
I HATE Man in the Box and Angry Chair.

Good God, man! Have you never heard the fourth album? When the Levee Breaks, Four Sticks, Stairway to Heaven, Black Dog and Rock and Roll, all pure magic.

American Hardcore. It was a book first, and the doc/film kinda pales in comparison to the book (which itself is far from a comprehensive view of the scene throughout the 80's and 90's - its focus tends toward the late 70's and early 80's West Coast / D.C. scenes). Doug's entitled to his opinion, but to say that there's a lot more to it than his list is itself a severe understatement. Also note: Bad Religion were never quite my thing - and not necessarily because of what I'm about to say - and they were far from being a hardcore band in the true sense of the term/genre.

Plus the guy who has a MBV avatar probably doesn't care about stage presence. That being said, I at one time worshiped AIC but rarely listen now. "Don't Follow" still brings a tear to my however. They could have been the greatest, most depressing alt country band of all time.

Yes, Joe Perry is a great guitarist. Yes, "Get Your Wings", "Toys In the Attic", and "Rocks" are awesome, but God do I hate Steven Tyler and do I hate the absolute garbage that has been released under the name "Aerosmith" in the last 10 years of their career... so much, that "I can't stand Aerosmith".
