Chicago, IL (January 7, 2009) – Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley and Chicago Blackhawks Chairman Rocky Wirtz will be among the very first guests for the inaugural airing of Comcast SportsNet’s new, three-hour, live Monday through Friday morning local sports talk show entitled Monsters in the Morning presented by NextStep Medical Staffing, which will make its debut this Monday, January 12 from 6 - 9 AM.

Reuniting two of the most popular personalities in Chicago sports media history, Monsters in the Morning, with the theme song written and recorded by legendary rock band “Chicago,” stars Mike North, two-time Emmy winner and one of the most colorful and outspoken individuals to ever grace the Chicago airwaves and Dan Jiggetts, former Chicago Bears standout with a 25-year career in local/national sports broadcasting.

Every Monday-Friday morning on Comcast SportsNet, North, who is also the executive producer of Monsters in the Morning, and Jiggetts will bring their entertaining, unscripted and no-holds-barred style of sports talk to Chicago fans that made them a household name during their eight years together as co-hosts of the wildly-popular “Monsters of the Midday” program on WSCR AM 670 during the 1990s.

In addition to live viewer phone calls and e-mail correspondence (monstersinthemorning@comcastsportsnet.com) during every show, fans can listen online for a LIVE audio stream of Monsters in the Morning available on Comcast SportsNet’s new, enhanced website CSNChicago.com. Also, following the show, an archived podcast will also be available for viewer convenience 24/7.

To accompany the topical, lively sports talk focusing on the top headlines of the day, Monsters in the Morning will feature numerous live interviews with professional athletes, coaches and front office executives from Chicago’s teams, along with regular appearances from Comcast SportsNet’s vast on-air talent pool of local sports experts. In addition, special guests from the local and national media, entertainment industry, city officials and other VIPs will also be a part of every morning show. Also, viewers can look forward to game highlights from the previous night’s action, plus – sports, weather and traffic updates delivered by associate producer Jen Patterson.


So Mikey Two Chins is the executive producer, and they have visits form people in entertainment , politics - sounds like a video version of the morning radio show.

Mike, you are the greatest and an inspiration to my son, who plays on the ND basketball team. I can't say enough about what a great role model you are with that gambling site and making fun of priests and your ex-cocktail waitress sidekick. You are a class act! There is no way the show lives up to the good wish comments that have been posted.

Is Mike still coaching? I ask because I sent an Official from the IHSA an email about Mike's comments about that ref that "blew" a call a couple of weeks back. he said he was going to put it on NorthtoNorth.com for everyone to see. I even sent the link from the video and informed him that North had a gambling site that had porn sites as sponsors. I also claimed I was at the game and I have a nephew that played for St. Pats. I hope in some small way I helped mold the minds of student atheletes by ridding them of Coach North.

Anyone know?

After reading and having to delete all those vulgarities and insults posted on their website, I hope Comcast now realizes what a beloved and well-respected member of the Chciago sports media they have chosen to grace their airwaves from 6 to 9 AM.
