I've heard of Taylor Swift, who is the musical guest tonight...

I don't know CURRENT country music. My first concert (with my parents) was Sawyer Brown opening for Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers. ( my first concert without my parents was Wham! ) I saw George Strait in multiple "honky tonks" before Nashville knew about George Strait. I only know who Kenny Chesney is because Renee Zellwegger (Houston area gal) married him and Mike&Mike have boy crushes on him! I've only listened to sports talk radio for the last 12 years, so I don't know any current music...not just country!

And except for the election campaign SNL funnies shown on the Sunday news shows, I haven't known who any of these people for awhile! FFS man, I remember when Buckwheat was shot!!

That was 1983 when Joe Piscopo played "Ted Koppel" and "SNL" spoofed "ABC News Nightline" with the video of Eddie Murphy as "Buckwheat" getting shot. Needless to say, it was one of the funniest bits I've ever seen on "SNL"...

OMG...I remember where I was when I saw it. Hilarious!!

I forgot that the guy who used to be "Doogie Howser" in the '80s and now stars in "How I Met Your Mother" is guest hosting, Houston...Taylor Swift is a hot looking blonde country singer who I don't think is old enough to drink, but has quite a following in country music at only 18 years old.

I don't think Roger Clemens knows who Ms. Swift is, but she was linked briefly to Joe Jonas...Makes me feel old when I type that, but that part about Taylor & Joe is accurate...

I didn't like where they parked their bus. They didn't like that my buddy pulled some piece of trim off of their bus in retaliation (and not the good kind of trim - not that Sawyer Brown would have any of that either).

Enter their bodyguards and their displeasure with my friend now holding a large section of the exterior of their transportation.

I explained to them that I did not care if they were Bread who also had not had a hit song in over 10 years.

They explained to me that police were on their way for the vandalism that we had perpetrated.

I told them they could find me in the bar if they needed to arrest me.

They did not show themselves again.

I win.

Although, in full, grown-up hindsight, my buddy is a jagoff and should have been arrested.

Seth Meyers does "Weekend Update" these days, and I think he does it solo since Amy Poehler announced she's leaving the venerable sketch comedy show. Amy & Tina Fey had been the first "WU" all-female anchors on the news segment before Tina left to join a certain Emmy award winning comedy called "30 Rock"...
