I didn't listen to his radio show for the last 2 years. But you're right, Spaulding, we do enjoy taking our shots at team Pappy. It is a pass time.

I do find it facinating how such an idiot/no talent can con so many people in the media business.

It is funny to make fun of his stupid world with his stupid characters. Jen, Bebe, Fritzy and Knuckles. That is Pappy's gang.

I don't think so, spmack. You people could not get enough of what North was doing towards the end at the score and when he was unemployed.

I recorded it today and will watch it later.

Spaulding I never listened to his dontfademe.com shows....I just loved to read about the reviews from RodeoVann.

All that being said, honestly, I would even take North's last days over anything that Mully and Hanley has done.

That would cost production money, coming directly out of Mike's pocket.

See, that's the thing. This is a North production, creatively and financially. You guys waiting for something with creative content, good production values, and some thought and preparation behind it are going to be waiting for a long time. North couldn't come up with much of anything creative, witty, or intelligent on a radio show and now he's in a visual medium which adds a whole new dimension to be dealt with. He's in way over his head.

perfect honesty: I've got tv's all over the house and zero radios, so I've tuned in the show 2 days out of 2. It is what it is and nothing more. If Jiggs can somehow overcome North and make it a 50/50 show, it will be full potential and stick around for some time. Period.

I agree....I'm looking for something, anything, so that I can have an alternative to the boring Mully Hanley show and the East Coast biased Mike and Mike show...

Comcast has the cameras. I guess you'd have to pay the camera guy but Jen and Mike could go out to the bar and do a shoot. It's Pappy's show so he's just looking to scrape profits. He wouldn't get paid. Jen would go out for free if Pappy asked. More air time for her. More time for her to be cute on TV. She'd love that. I think they hang out anyway. They do a 30 minute shoot and continue to hang at the bar like they would anyway. Wouldn't cost that much money.

see, no one wants to admit this, but their show was decent on the score on the days Mike had laringytis or a cold....

I have not really watched yet. I turned it on as they were going to commercial and then was out the door to work. I'm just riffing off of how it has been described here and what I know of the radio show.

I am one of the few North loyalists on the board.

During the bit that I caught this morning, he was reading off the percentage of people who had been watching other stations in that time slot who tuned in to the Monsters in the Morning yesterday. Ex: 12% of people who had watched CBS tuned in, 9% of people who had watched WGN tuned in -- where would he get those numbers from so quickly?

He also said that 38% of people who watched Comcast's "Sports Rise" tuned in to his new show. Doesn't that mean that he lost 62% of Comcast's viewers in that time slot? :?

I haven't watched but I did stream a bit for around a half hour yesterday.
I'll watch Friday, get a good laugh, and then never come back to it again.

Plus, the 40 people that are commenting here are likely the only ones paying attention.

As somebody said earlier, the only people able to watch this are the unemployed and they are not necessarily a top target demographic. At-home moms make Oprah and the View successful but there is no day time television aimed at men because they are at work, or at least should be. North's moronic requests for advertisers will continue until he realizes that none are interested. Given the economic model here North loses money if he can't attract advertisers so I suspect this will last only a bit longer than dontfademe, where he wasn't able to attract enough suckers to make that viable.

Mac- Would you appear on the show if they asked you? Are you allowed to? Maybe if they booked you and Terry, you could do some transition. I'm not sure what it would be transitioning to though. I know, I know...living in the past is for cowards & losers.

Some are predicting the show will be big among unemployed people who want to send their sons to a Catholic school and/or visit a suburb with a big theater and convention center.

I know nothing about the TV biz, so I'm probably way off base here, but wouldn't he be better served by giving those numbers to, say, potential advertisers when he's out on a sales call and using the TV time to, oh, I don't know, actually entertain his audience?

Just a thought.

Hey Mac...what is it with all your North "lickage" lately? I like most others look at this section & specific posts about North to laugh at his idiocy. Rodeo & others are providing me with endless entertainment at the expense of this guy. 400 views or whatever...I have seen / read very little support.

At least we didn't get the "Why are you guys so mean to Mike; why don't you just ignore him if you don't like him" spiel this time.

True. Blue collar doesn't always mean stupid. North is stupid and doesn't appeal to anybody that isn't stupid. Except for Good Dolphin.

Ed Sherman said it best. Let's see what happens in 6 months. I just dont see this taking off with this kind of poor start.

The lack of ads as evidenced by NDHS being a name sponsor? Guest lists are already unnamed TBA? Had to rely on calling the audible today for the girls interview. I just dont see me turning this on anymore.

I'm going to get flamed for this, but the sitdown with Butkus, which is when I tuned in for a few minutes, was rather boring. It sucks because Butkus is a very engaging and interesting to listen to guy as evidenced by his appearances (in person or via phone) with Uncle Fuzzy and OB. I attribute the boring nature of the Butkus segment to subpar preparation. The sad thing is that they did do homework. It was just absolutely inadequate to produce a memorable segment.

Butkus is a moody guy. He can be fun if he feels like it. If he doesn't he won't. He only does interviews when he has something to promote.

Actually, IMO Butkus usually comes off as detached(boring) in virtually every interview I've heard, UNLESS he's with OB & Buffone. I've just figured that if you didn't play with him/tell old stories, he's not really interested.

Didn't hear/watch the show, but even I wouldn't blast them for this tidbit.

Butkus and McMahon should do a radio show.

The Butkus interview is at the heart of the problem - it was all about the old days - when Butkus was great, old clips of him tackling people and Mike guessing who they were - this is riveting if you are over 50 and bemoaming the loss of the old days.

Mike perpetually lives in the past, and he will not attract the younger demographic to this show. Dan is similar, but far less than Mike.

North misses with Butkus all the time because North knows Butkus has some of the very best stories locked up in him, but isn't one to tell. Some of those stories aren't so flattering either, so he keeps it close to the vest all the time.

Oh, no, it's no secret. I think he's an ignorant, arrogant asshole and he's a poor communicator who is in the communications business and he's someone who has been given way too many opportunities and media outlets to do shows where cleverness, wit, and humor are essential ingredients, despite the fact he possesses none of the above. His idea of original cutting-edge socio-political commentary is usually along the lines of, "Hey, it's gonna be below zero tuh-night. So much for Al Gore and dat global warmin' stuff! Heh-heh!" All this crap that a lot of the local media (many of whom, especially on the TV side, just got here from Des Moines or Buffalo) just slurps up like a dog licking another dog's ass about him being some great representation of the quintessential Chicago guy or the quintessential Chicago sports fan is a heaping, steaming pile of bullshit and an embarrassment to me who has lived here all my life.

I watched the program for five minutes today, and I don't know if I'll be back.
North's analysis that "Noah needs to work on his shot" was especially insightful. I turned it off right after Jen teased about the cargo inside a turn-over semi. I guess a quick comment about the status of traffic would've been a tad bit more informative.
BTW, I won't need to watch with the constant updates here. From what I saw, most reviews were pretty much dead-on.

We might watch, but its human nature, the small part of what i saw today was pappy doing the dui pics, wow, that was never done before, plus this is the guy who made all these promises, mr. multi media star is just going to show up and its going to work. Well, no its not, 2 shows tell me he is the same guy who isnt going to take suggestions and will watch it go down in flames just so he can say he did it his way, which over the last 5 years have been nothing but failures.

Then to have Jen even mildly involved with this product, well with every update, it shows North lack of knowledge on talent.

North is asking for this beatdown, its that simple.
