Frank, you must not watch much locally produced programming. Aside from the occaisional WTTW pieces, what of it is actually even decent?

Final Word
Comcast Pre & Post game shows
Instant Replay

If nothing else, at least those shows get scores and players names right. The same cannot be said of NBC's "show." Plus, there is nothing even remotely close to as cheesy as the 'Fan den' on any local weekly sports show.

You could also add the Chicago Huddle and 190 North (w/ Janet "Lady Elaine Fairchilde" Davies). And you forget that Oprah is a locally produced program (even though it's a national show).

Maybe we better include Col. Angus in that group w/his reference to "Lady Elaine Fairchild". Or at least bring up a well produced, if not strange "Gigglesnort Hotel" of many a Sunday morning.

....next, a discussion about the merits of OnTV v. Spectrum :P

Leave Irish Boy alone. He would rather see McPherrin and Waddle in some Bras and Panties before Paula and Ginger.

Irish goes into strip clubs and tells the dancers to put their cloths on. :P :P

IB they are in a male dominated field, it wasn't that bad. I'm sure they've heard worse and I'm sure they could take care of themselves. That would roll off them like water off a duck's back.

This will all work out. Now look what we'll get. The Paula Farris call into the show to talk about this. Boom!!!! That's another segment. Another 10 minutes off the clock. Paula will be sweet and charming. They'll all laugh.

Mac is churning out these wars to knock out shows. Easy programing. Create tension and then get a resolution. "Oh boy...what will Paula say when she gets on the air?"

Who's left at channel 5? Adamle and Peggy. Peggy already hates Mac. That won't be resolved.

It definitely beats the MJH NBA talk.

Irishboy, I don't think Slapshot meant anything by that other than that show sucks. I get what you're saying, but c'mon.

Between you not liking the glorious NFL playoffs and lingerie and I'm for sure what is pleasurable in the world of Irish Boy.

A bit sexist perhaps or a bad attempt at humor for some but I've seen worse written here with less reaction. Maybe a bit of over-reacting on the side of IB a bit but I respect his thoughts on the comment.

If it was Frank, Stu, Rocks and Blows comments, I wouldn't expect the same reaction.

Wrong on this one Beardown. They will get far more than 10 minutes out of this, as Jurko will lobby to replay the segment at least once more, so he can take a nap, a dump,-do something else, with the time.

Yes I'm stupid but I accept that. Just a quick google search found that site (http://www.leavemethewhite.com/caps) which has screen caps all the way through the movie (and many others).

I wonder, the somewhat invasive shot of Claire on page 4... really Molly Ringwald, or a double?

I strenuously object to this description, Beardown. You make it sound like I or we are cruising. I don't know what I or we have done to give you that impression.... perhaps you can amplify. The truth of it is we came back last week with an attitude. The year just completed did not satisfy us. I agree with those who have stated MJH could use more of an edge. Not a contrived or feigned edge... but a willingness to mix it up more regularly. More of that will follow.

Paula wanted to join us on the show, but I suggested we take a pass. NBC5 was given more air time last week than it really deserves. And I don't consider battling with other media types "easy programming." Never been a huge fan of confrontational interviews unless the situation warrants. When Daryl called and said he wanted to come on Friday, I thought it was only fair because he was the object of criticism in the column and on the show. That was enough for me.

If I was Hawkes I would be just as angry with Farris as I was with Mac. His abilities have been called into question and this makes it look like he needs someone else to defend him...and a lightweight at that.

Irish Boy, after all you have seen and read on this site, SSE's comments are the ones you deem worthy of criticism? I, alone, make at least one equally insensitive comment per day...but I suppose your expectations are lowered when you see my name attached to the post.

It only took me 2 years to offend somebody on this board Dolphin. My parents would be proud and I'll wear this as some kind of special/Major award. I'll expect Big Fan to send me a leg Lamp for this dubious honor.I'll also expect a giant box that say's "Fragile " on it to arrive by the end of the month.

whew...Slappy you can have it.

Lots of great points made here. Paula probably hasn't had anyone in the media rail on her since she's been here. Though a lot of people would like to rail...nevermind.
Sarah Kustok anyone?

I saw the lamp last month and they had it priced at something like 2 hundred dollars. I think it was 50 more to get it in a crate. Maybe he was correct when he called it a major prize.

Mac is a bit brisk with his opinion sometimes, but classless is a bit of a stretch. BTW, that show isn't very strong on it's own merit.

This may have been a non-issue if she would have just e-mailed Mac. At the very least, Mac could have had some kind of dialogue with her before mentioning it on-air...
