A few people I know will fight you to the death defending Soundgarden as the greatest band of all time. I share your feelings Doug. I think Cornell is an awesome vocalist, but some of Soundgarden's later stuff was very drab. The chorus "Fell on Black Days" sums up the drabbness the best. I would suggest giving Binaural a listen though. Im not asking you to put up a shrine to them, but its worth a play.

If you're looking to get heavier into Pearl Jam, I would recommend staying far away from Binaural and Riot Act. "Sad" is one of the best songs on Lost Dogs.

'Superunknown' is actually the only CD that I wore out and had to buy again because I listened to it so much.

Wait a minute, this is the guy with Riot Act bumper sticker on this car ;). But seriously thouhg. Binaural, are you kidding me? I actually just threw it on. I realize Nothing as it Seems and Soon Forget are a little weak, but the rest of the CD is an awesome listen. Breakerfall is an intense opening song. Sad is great, Undone is right up there.

Its a 2003 tour sticker. :P

Of the Girl and Sleight of Hand are the best tracks off Binaural. Soon Forget was better the first time around...when Pete Townshed played the uke on 'By Numbers.' I would highly recommend Yield over anything PJ has to offer.

 Funny you say that, I had a SKA period myself after high school. Reel Big Fish blasted for a while. I got over it pretty quickly though. The only weird thing was the song "Shes got a girlfriend now" became an inside joke around my group of friends. But thats a story over beers.

yeah, reel big fish. saw them twice in concert, and met them at one of their concerts. reel big dicks.

i was into a ton of ska music for about a 2 year period: fish, the specials, the smooths, cherry poppin daddies, five iron frenzy, kemuri, mighty mighty bosstones, buck o'nine, etc...went to a lot of ska shows. skanked hard core.

loved me some ska...FIF, Supertones...went to every ska/punk show under the sun. Elgin was a great place to catch good up and coming ska. Even liked the semi-big band stuff that came after for a little while...Brian Seltzer, the W's...

The thing with Ska was, I loved it for a year, then it was like I woke up one day and said wow I cant stand this stuff anymore. I dont remember when or why, but it was a sudden thing.

the shows just stopped...couldn't find a ska/punk show anywhere. I switched back to my love for good blues lead guitar.

I always thought Hail,Hail totally rocked.

No Code was the only english speaking ablum at El Gallo on 137th in Crestwood.

If I was there it was 3 am and I was drunk...so I always got a kick out of putting on Hail,Hail...there would be spanish music playing at a reasonable volume and 10 seconds after i made the selection dramatic cut to an insanely loud opening riff of Hail, Hail

Without fail at least one drunk person freaked out and one time a girl fell out of her chair.

So yeah I like Hail,Hail
