Decent early ratings for North show
Posted by Ed Sherman 1/14/2009 on Chicago Business
The new "Monsters in the Morning" got off to a decent start in the all-important targeted male demographic Monday.
Overall, the show did a 0.31 rating; 1 local ratings point is worth more than 35,000 homes. However, in men ages 18-49, a vital demo for advertisers, the show did a 0.52 rating. That placed it fourth in the Chicago market from 6-9 a.m., ranking ahead of the local ABC and CBS TV stations.
Undoubtedly, some viewers tuned in to "Monsters" to give it an opening-day test drive. Then again, some people haven't gotten word the show exists.
There's a long, long way to go before we really know the final score here.

Good for them. I, like Mac, would like it to succeed.

10,000 total viewers? That's good?

I calculated that at 110,000.

Using previously reported numbers, it looks like triple the audience Comcast had during that time period.

I still get 10 something thousand. 1 ratings point is 35k homes, and 1/3rd of a point?

So it did better than the Shamwow & Extenze infomercials that used to be on at that time...

If it weren't for the threads here, I'd never think twice about this show. On the off chance I actually had a minute to look for scores and highlights, I can't really envision stomaching the ten minutes of BS to see the five seconds of 'highlights'. Thank you ESPNews & and a standard clock/wheel? for the morning news shows.

And I think the # is just under 11K homes. (Edit: make that a WHOPPING 11K homes)
