Murph still is enough a draw he can hold a couple hours on the weekday shift. Put him on before the Cubs games. The Murph/Cubs fan listeners are likely to switch to the Cubs telecast anyhow, so you put D&G during those hours, then go into HFC and let them work till 6:30. Murph just has to reverse his corporate shilling -- more Browns at the end of the show, more RentalMax towards the beginning.

My 100th post finally. How cool is that? Do I get a chip or anything like I did at an N.A. meeting after three months of abstinence? Thanks for the push on the dream lineup, Nas. I have been thinking about it for months. Here's what I have concocted.

ALL LOCAL, NO PLAY-BY-PLAY (except for Monday Night Football)

6a - 10a Mike North, Dan Bernstein and Harry Teinowitz.
All three have different approaches and interests. Nobody lacks a willingness to be himself, despite how high the level of embarrassment grows. It would be fun to take bets on which member of this crew hires somebody to break one of the other's legs. And for which cast member would the contract be put out? In many ways, these guys deserve each other.

10a - 2p Marc Silverman, Jonathon Hood and Matt Abbatacola.
Silverman and Hood have not been given a fair shake yet at our place and, with Drinky's willingness to mix it up, this would be a great opportunity for all three to earn their spurs.

2p - 6p Dan McNeil, John Jurkovic and Terry Boers.
That's right... Mac, Jurko and Terry. Heavy Fuel II. Terry has enormous wisdom, but often resorts to condescention. The Good Kid and I would bring out his warm and fuzzy side and have him loving sports again. This show consistently would produce a 6.something in the adult male demo.

10p - 6a Les Grobstein.
I never have met anybody who can talk to himself for eight hours like Les. We'd give him a break, a chance to go clean the pipes, by sprinkling in "Best Of" segments from earlier in the day.

SHARK, a radio fan like yourself should be able to remember a few years back when Murph and Fred routinely beat Mike and Mike. Finally is not a good word here.

I believe the quickest answer would be that the Score is run by trained monkeys. However, that might insult trained monkeys.

3-7 Mac and Hood- Hood has a general knowledge of the sports landscape that I believe is unparalleled in this city. He can speak equally authoritatively on basketball, baseball and football. He has strong views that he presents in a clear manner. He gets the red ass with some callers but he also appreciates his fans. This combination has enough edge to keep you intersted, enough humor to keep you engaged and enough knowledge to maintain respect. The only question is whether Hood has finally learned to play as a team
