Just heard a new Score promo on how they have all local talent instead of "Some crap imported here from the east coast". Going after ESPN pretty quickly after the move was made yesterday. Kind of ballsy considering their flagship show (North) gets killed by two purely national guys in Mike and Mike who haven't even been "imported" here. I hope Sean and Rosey tear them a new one in the next book.

i'm not surprised. the score has nothing to resort to but namecalling.

That’s terrible. Is it read by Russ? If so, that’s even worse.

When the local talent consists of losers like North, Murph and little Danny,
I don't think the promo will help. People have heard the local talent and have switched stations. It would probably help if they had "likeable" local talent, but they don't.

Look, your boys weren't world beaters. I still doubt the numbers you throw out. The overall number for the midday sucks period, for both stations.

This is not the first time WSCR has gone after ESPN.

I would say that Mitch and Paul really need to at a very minimum beat ESPN, regardless how bad the overall ratings are.

Agreed.

But SCR will beat them in the next book.

And if they don't... then Mitch and Paul will really be worried.

Same old crap line from the snore, next time, next time my ass. The station is submerging with no real victories. One more losing book could spell the end for this disaster.

Well, probably not, but I got to wonder why they're squandering a good frequency/antennae like 670s to this programming. Hell, even an all-news station to "compete" against BBM would garner better ratings for the two...

The reality is, they belong on no better than 1160's equipment. They were given the opp to go regional with 670, and just don't have the talent nor management to pull it off.

It just says "why would you listen to that east coast imported crap". The only problem with running this ad is nobody hears it because they are listening to the east coast import crap. I think these ads will back fire. Your trying to get listeners by insulting them for choosing the national shows. We all know you are there WSCR. People still choose to ignore you for the Bristol show.

The funniest thing is that Salisbury used to be in San Diego, and is currently in Dallas.

Now I'm not Michael Jordan, but the last time I checked, Dallas was SOUTH, not EAST.

I think the Score was reffering to the "Mike and Mike" show and the "Dan Patrick show"

I've heard different variations of this, when companies do this, I see them as desperate. Extremely lame since everyone on the Score starts shaking at the possibility if someone mentions something related to ESPN radio on the air. I remember a caller once called in to North in the afternoon and said that 'ESPN 1000 rocked' and he cut him off and gave out his address from the caller id on the air. Very funny to me, when in comparison, Mac or the others have no problem naming North, Murph, Bernstein and ripping them to pieces

I heard Ed Farmer mention Mac, Jurko, and Harry by name on a White Sox broadcast the other day. He was referring to an appearance he made on that show, but it still struck me how it was the only time I'd ever heard a direct reference to the competition on the Score.

I was listening to the Sox game until about th 5th inning. I checked back a few hours later to hear talk about the game and who won.

I hear a national show ?

At 5 PM?

The funny thing is their ad says "You wont hear Washington Nationals talk here." But guess whose score was given before the Sox or Cubs on the National show......thats right....the Washingtopn Nationals final score.

where's my "Score Guys" ?

Can you say (or spell) HYPOCRITES???

It would definitely make it through, since they were pre-empted by Sporting News radio today. For the last couple of weeks, the Last Call has been on Sunday nights after the Sox games. Do it!
