From NorthtoNorth.com, prospective cities are:

Beaverville
Springfield
Manhattan
Gays
Lake Shelbyville
Dixon
Manito
Decatur
Quad Cities
Bloomington
Normal
Alton
Spring Valley
Warren
Rend Lake
Utica
Ottawa
Peru

I just have one question for MNMS - would you please stay in whatever city is chosen? (Take Hub, Adamle, Zaidman, Holmes, and Murphy with you).

I used to live and work in Peru. I like some of the people there. Please don't go. They don't deserve that.

Is it odd that there's not a single location on there in Chicago, or even the close burbs? C'mon Mike. You're "undeniably Chicago". Why not do a remote in.... say... Chicago for once?

I think that was done on purpose so they reach out to other areas ????

I'm in Ottawa, so allow me to speak for 18,000 people. We don't want this jagoff, or his piss poor show on our soil.

OK but that's my point. Why is he worried about reaching out to other areas, when he's putting up crap ratings in his own target market????

You really think that going to visit the 18,000 people in Peru (that apparently don't want him according to DW) is gonna help him at all. Like Coach said, set up shop at Union or Northwestern Station, give away some free stuff, have some cool guests (NOT some 80 year old singer who was great in 1935) and start trying to win back some of the listeners that you've driven away.

Do you work at Skydive Chicago? Have you ever met Jackie Bange(sp.?)?

I did for a summer a couple of years ago, and I still have friends who work there. I never met the Banger, but I hear she's pretty cool.

I did a tandem there in '00 with the owner, really nice guy. I heard his parachutte got tangled with another guys and fell 50 feet to his death, that true?

To anyone who's never tried it, it's a huge rush and a lot fun. Only drawback is the cost. Dallas, how much is it now?

Yeah, that's what happened to the owner. He was good people. His hot young daughter now owns it. It'll cost you $209 to jump.

And the risk of death over foolish pursuits.

Let me rephrase my statement. The only drawback, when I was 25 and I had no family obligations, was the cost.

It did motivate me to send in the bene form on my group life insurance at the time.

jumping out of an air plane is #2, behind climbing mount everest, on my "to do" list.
followed by sunbathing in iraq and working an alaskan fishing boat......

Is Joliet too close to Chicago to get on the list? OR

Are the towns on the list small enough to say, "Mike North is the biggest thing to come through this town since the Lincoln Funeral procession."

Hey North, pick a city, any city and just go there and stay. Chicago knows your show sucks, but maybe you can become bigtime in one of those cities, because here you are a clown.

Bloomington-Normal, where I'm from has over 100,000 people combined (not big at all) and Mike North would have to get in fuckin line to be considered anywhere near the top...trust me, sports radio isn't very big down here. Out of the hundred grand of people, 5 probably know who he is....

From a small city that produced Adlai Stevenson, saw both Jack Sikma and Doug Collins go to college here, to a number of other celebrities, politicians, etc. who have ties here, Mike North would even get laughed right out of Bloomington-Normal

Thank god Champaign/Urbana isn't on the list.

Is this North's lame attempt to become the most listened-to morning show in a city, since he's getting smoked in Chicago? In most of these towns all he'd have to do is have a remote at a John Deere Outlet Store, convince 17 people to listen, and he'd have a majority of the town.
