Ha, ha, ha. Alot of people laughed back in Sept that Cuban was out of the bidding for the Cubs and the details of his bid, and I do not remember anyone here saying Mac was available May 4th? I could list a bunch of details, but I will leave that to the credit I've gotten on WGN and WSCR, Deadspin, Chicago's Best blogs (via Tribune.com) :D

Who cares when Mac is available? If you make your living from your blog you probably are on welfare.

As for your "inside" info that he will go to the score, I say no shit. There are only 2 sports stations in town and one just canned his ass, so....., but I guess morons might not make the association so you do fill a role.

Not making a living, have a pretty good "day-job".(know your'e happy for me) I do not disagree with your points. However, I kind of disagree that Mac back to the Score is a slam-dunk. There are other options probably for him. I know the Mac thing isnt the biggest story, but it is interesting. Look at this site for instance. I've had better stories . Just because people have connections or sources who are willing to talk to someone rather than a news source doesn't make them bad. There is alot of things said off-record, and that is where I would like to come in.

Fox, no one is going to pay Mac huge money whether the score or any other station now. Economics have changed dramatically and he really has a limited following of a group of VERY loyal listeners. He turned a very successful sports talk show into a mediocre "man" show and the appeal of that format is limited.
Please explain why you think he is attractive to any other station than the score and then tell me why the score would pay big money for someone with limited options available in the Chicago market.

It was also stated in the Sun-Times and every other post here the day afer he was let go that his contract was up in May. I think you were pretty much just stating the obvious, Fox32NewsAtNine.

Times have changed but Mac does have a track record of success whether you like his style or not. Big money? Well, I would imagine WSCR isn't going to outbid themselves but getting Mac would be a devastating blow to am1000 imho. Word is they may wait for Jurco to get out of his deal and pair him back with Mac in the Am. That would put a dent in Mike and Mike for sure and maybe take up some of Waddle/Silvy aud if they do a 7-11 show let's say? Also factor in Mitch's history with Mac, it was Mitch's 1st big move as am1000 no?, and they probably have some dough left from North. They did offer 800k right? There is alot worse talent on the airwaves making money than Mac.

Some industry talk I've heard, along with Ed Sherman speculating in his Crain's blog.

Well, fair enough. I thought I was told soemthing new. I know Mac to the Score is obvious, but still no slam dunk. There had to be negotiations and money avail to make it happen. I've got good sources and my site is about that info and other stuff out there, I won't be pimping anymore. Even though Big Fan thought I shouldn't stop.

So, you're telling me that Mac is going to wait 3 months (unpaid) to work with Jurko...maybe?

That dough is long gone with the economics in radio now. That offer was a while ago, do you really think they just set aside the money to spend later? simplistic and naive reasoning, sorry.

Wow... there's some hard hitting journalism. WSCR might sign Mac and might put him with a temporary partner. Then maybe when Jurco's paper is up, they might sign Jurco and maybe put him with Mac.

Chris Hansen is pissing his pants right now

What are you talking about? That wasn't any report. That was a discussion on a discussion board. All I reported was that Mac indeed is heading back to WSCR and I believe personally they are eyeing a Mac and Jurco am show. What sources do you read anyway that are always defenitive. I've read fucking 10,000 different reports from all kinds of sources on the John Paxson and Amare Stoudemire front. So I guess they are all full of shit because they don't know for sure what is going on. Don't worry, there will be not be any more reports.

so, when the Score hires Mac, will it be because you're wrong or because Mac took less money?

I have an excellent source that tells me that Mac will not become a real estate agent in Chicago anytime soon!

SCOOPED!

Less money. Read the news about CBS today. Ad revenue plummeting, not good for big money hosts as they have shown before this decline.

Maybe Mac is going to be writing for the new "ESPN Chicago" website. My sources tell me he's great at organizing softball leagues.
