So I stuck around for this HBO show after Flight of the Conchords last night. Was I in for a treat. This show can be wrong, ignorant, and somtimes it's both. I couldn't help but laugh at it though. Pretty entertaining for Sunday at 9:30.

The show stars Danny McBride from Pineapple Express and Tropic Thunder fame.

Yes, but when you and going to have a show that is based on a MLB pitcher, start with a guy that doesn't throw like a girl. Just makes the fall from grace (which is what the show is about) that much better,

This shows promise. It's about time they got back to a sports themed series (other than that garbage surfer movie) - Arli$$ was alright at the beginning and then got stupid - but tons of nudity.

I caught this and will give it a few more episodes before I decide
whether to stick with it. I find the main character to be pretty
funny overall.

This show was just baseball version of Talladega Nights. What makes it even worse is that Will Ferrell is an executive producer on the show also. I was very disappointed after I watched it. Although im sure it's a perfect program for all you Larry the Cable Guy fans out there, I will be skipping the rest of the episodes. Im all for making fun of white trash, because it is so easy. But building a tv series around that idea just doesn't work for me.

Hilarious may be too kind.

It's a half hour show - at least be funny for 20 of those minutes.

I still like the show, but it's got a certain 'Semi Pro' feel to it vs. 'Talladega Nights'.

It started out strong this week, then kind of lulled in the middle - and then picked up at the dance.

I'm still a fan though.

Some very very weak parts to it, but than it has some parts that Im crying laughing at. Ill keep watching for awhile longer and hope they can continue for a whole 25 mins instead of 10 great mins.

Bernstein is a tool. One day he lowers himself to all kinds of stupid comments, laughing hysterically at stupid shit, and the next he is mr wine critic snob who has a problem with swearing. gimme a fucking break.

His favorite crapper is a white man doing a over the top interpretation of a Japanese man.

I saw the pilot middle of last year, and couldn't wait for the show. I think its classic Will Farrell type comedy. And Danny McBride is a funny guy.

This show appears to be losing steam. Watched Sundays
episode last night. I would say the writers laid out many of
the good material "prematurely", not unlike the main character
in this episode. Next week looks slightly better but just because
they show T & A in every episode, unfortunately it doesn't
make it a good enough show to keep me tuned in. I will give it
one more week to show some promise.

Panther, I am not giving up on it yet but I thought the
episode before when he goes to the dance was better.
I don't deny this last one had some funny elements
but I wasn't laughing out loud like some of the previous
episodes.

I liked the last episode. Kind of light on laughs, but the best one so far behind the first/pilot.

The show wasn't going to last with this guy just being a prick constantly. I'm glad that there appears to be an actual plot line beyond that.

His sidekick keeping getting better and better too.

I agree, the laughs aren't coming like they were at
first but developing his character could help get
another season out of this show. Can't believe
the first season is going to be over after just 6
episodes. Hopefully HBO picks it up again and
it appears he may try to make a legit comeback
to the pros which could be hilarious.

The show has it's moments. I thought Episode 3 and 4 were pretty weak.

Episode 5 ROCKED imho... When he beaned that guy in the eye, I almost pissed in my pants laughing.

Episode 6 is the final episode though.

So a series based upon 3 hours total? Very lame.

The Finale was good and the payoff in the first 2 mins was even better. Those are some nice tits. :D

I wonder how this show did ratings wise. Think they will bring it
back for another season?

If it did decent in the ratings I think they will. This show is more a word of mouth show than anything. Im just glad with how it ended.

That is what made me wonder if it will be back.
If it did end there were no loose ends to tie up
really. I will see if I can find out how it did.

It was probably a package deal with Will Ferrell. We'll show you George Bush broadway show, but you have to exec produce a comedy series. I liked the bookends - the first two and the last two episodes. There's no way that was the actress's real breasts in the last episode. It was a close up shot and you didn't see her face at the same time. They looked meaty and fun. It was like the pillsbury dough package when she unsnapped that front loader bra.

Finally have caught up fully on this show.

I think it's awesome. Funny and dark. I'm looking forward to seeing how Kenny deals with what's going on now.

Great news for Eastbound & Down fans....

The premium cable network announced Wednesday (April 8th) that production on a new run of “Eastbound & Down” will begin later this year and will premiere in 2010…

“‘Eastbound & Down’s’ raucous comedy sparked a loyal and enthusiastic following that grew throughout the season, and we’re happy to bring the show back for more innings,” says Michael Lombardo, president, Programming Group and West Coast Operations, HBO. “It will be fun to see what happens to Kenny in season two.”

Okay, got through the first season. I thought it was funny, but man is it tough to watch Danny McBride try and throw. That's the ugliest throwing motion I've ever seen. Who's the baseball consultant? Tim Robbins? What's worse is his 'nemesis' (Darryl from The Office) swung the bat like an ass-clown. Hard to get over something so egregious.
