Fans, Emmitt Smith may be the NFL's all-time leading rusher & a former "Mirror Ball" trophy winner on "Dancing with the Stars", but as an analyst for ESPN, Emmitt wasn't that good in the opinions of many media experts during the last 2 seasons. According to awfulannouncing.com & profootballtalk.com, ESPN has cut Emmitt & his butchering of the English language from its broadcasts next fall.

and in other news....ESPN announced it is ending the "English as a Second Language" night school course it had offered for on-air talent.

Am I the only one who will miss the "Steve Young face"? Additionally, who was worse... Emmitt Smith as an analyst, or Bill Russell as a broadcaster? Im going Bill Russell.

Does ESPN actually have a practice run with these guys before hiring them or do they just throw them on the air?

He was terrible and I would think that would have been apparent in the first hour of a practice show.

I believe Michael Irvin has a radio show of his own right now on ESPN Radio 103.3 FM down in Dallas since he was let go from Bristol University.
