Darren Sharper, MIN Mar. 1 - 2:30 am et

The Bears have reportedly emerged as "serious" contenders to land free agent S Darren Sharper.
Sharper played strong safety in Minnesota but would be used deeper in Chicago. The 33-year-old will be in New Orleans Monday. Brian Dawkins' out-of-nowhere $17 million deal with Denver reset the veteran safety market.

The Eagles have been hiding Dawkins in coverage for the last two seasons. He's declining rapidly.

He probably wants a job though, and the Bears don't play the Cover 2 more than 1/3 of the time.
