Bravo has been running its 100 funniest movies of all time, so I thought I'd check the pulse of the board. Movies, like music, are so subjective and personal, but I thought I'd throw out some titles and see what ya'll (TM Rock) thought. In no particular order:

1. Animal House
2. Caddyshack
3. Tommy Boy
4. Clerks
5. Fast Times At Ridemont High
6. Don't Be A Menace...
7. Vacation
8. Blazing Saddles
9. Coming To America
10. Stripes
11. The Blues Brothers
12. Dumb And Dumber
13. American Pie
14. Not Another Teen Movie
15. Major League
16. Airplane
17. The Naked Gun
18. Mallrats
19. Happy Gilmore
20. Scary Movie

I know I haven't even scratched the surface, and I'm sure my wet brain has forgotten some first ballot classics. Whadda you guys think?

Legally Blonde, Arthur, and fucking Shampoo(!) make this list, but Tommy Boy doesn't? Utter bullshit!

And am I the only one who doesn't kneel and bob over Napolean Dynamite? I thought that movie fucking sucked.

I'm with you Dallas; I thought it was a horrible, dreadful, not-even-cracked-a-smile-once kind of a movie. I've been forced into repeated viewings and I haven't cracked a smile once. It may have been because everyone and their family continuously repeated the movie's lines verbatim 24/7 to the point that when I finally saw it I thought it was a cinematic train wreck...and not in a good way. Sort of like the "I'm Rick James bitch!" uproar from the spring/summer of '04 (I never saw the bit months until after it originally aired, and when I finally saw it I just thought "What's so God damn funny about that?")

the south park movie had the funniest first 15 minutes of any comedy in my opinion.

I never laughed louder or harder, or felt guiltier for laughing so loud and hard than while viewing South Park: B, L, U.

That movie was fucking genius. It only has one slow part, and it's only about 10 minutes of the movie. Much like my favorite stand ups, I love movies that are mindbogglingly vulgar and profane, yet are smart and witty at the same time.

Shrek @ #3? I guess Jurko voted on this list.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail is by far one of my Top 5 favorites, and to see it listed as #40 on the Bravo list makes me a sad man.

I can't figure out how Billy Madison could be on anyone's list. When I was in high school and saw it the first time and we all loved it and quoted it. I recently re-watched it and it has not aged well at all IMO. Happy Gilmore is much the same for me. I don't know what it is about those two movies, but I used to love them and now the humor just isn't there anymore.

Blazing Saddles has to be # 1 on any list of Funny Movies.

How Bravo could put Wedding Singer, Somthing About Mary, & Shrek ahead of Blazing Saddles is a joke.

BTW, where was "Up The Acadamy"?

My Top 10:
1. Blazing Saddles
2. Caddyshack
3. Airplane
4. Young Frankenstein
5. Montey Python & The Holy Grail
6. The Jerk
7. Princess Bride
8. Bull Durham
9. This Is Spinal Tap
10. Coming To America

I KNow what you're saying Hawkeye. i think its more Adam Sandler. He sucks. However, I am going to have to go ahead and disagree with you there (lumbergh, os) on Happy Gilmore. For me that movie is still pretty damn funny. Shooter McGavin is just classic

How did we all forget Bad Santa? I almost pulled a groin the first time I saw it.

I also forgot about History Of The World...Part 1. Mel Brooks is a genius. I'll take him over that overrated pedophile Woody Allen. Seriously, what is it with all the fuss over that creep?

Dallas, My 2 cents about Woody. Early Woody flicks were very different from the over-indulgent relationship crap that began with Annie Hall. A few of Woody's early flicks.....Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Sex, Bananas were comedy classics in their day. And both still stand up pretty well.

Thank god the Jerk was at no. 20!

Granted was like 8 or 9 when it came out, but I went to see it and laughed so fucking hard.

Vintage Steve Martin before he started playing the Suburban Dad in every other movie out.

What about the tour-de-force that was both installments of the weekend at Bernies' franchise.

"Ghost World" is up their now. Saw it this weekend, figured it would be pretentious like Wes Anderson fims, but it wasn't, great shit and very un-PC

"Life of Brian" is funnier, but somehow, lesser known. That should be on everyone's top 10.

What have the Romans ever done for us?

" REG: They've bled us white, the bastards. They've taken everything we had, and not just from us, from our fathers, and from our fathers' fathers.
LORETTA: And from our fathers' fathers' fathers.
REG: Yeah.
LORETTA: And from our fathers' fathers' fathers' fathers.
REG: Yeah. All right, Stan. Don't labour the point. And what have they ever given us in return?!
XERXES: The aqueduct?
REG: What?
XERXES: The aqueduct.
REG: Oh. Yeah, yeah. They did give us that. Uh, that's true. Yeah.
COMMANDO #3: And the sanitation.
LORETTA: Oh, yeah, the sanitation, Reg. Remember what the city used to be like?
REG: Yeah. All right. I'll grant you the aqueduct and the sanitation are two things that the Romans have done.
MATTHIAS: And the roads.
REG: Well, yeah. Obviously the roads. I mean, the roads go without saying, don't they? But apart from the sanitation, the aqueduct, and the roads--
COMMANDO: Irrigation.
XERXES: Medicine.
COMMANDOS: Huh? Heh? Huh...
COMMANDO #2: Education.
COMMANDOS: Ohh...
REG: Yeah, yeah. All right. Fair enough.
COMMANDO #1: And the wine.
COMMANDOS: Oh, yes. Yeah...
FRANCIS: Yeah. Yeah, that's something we'd really miss, Reg, if the Romans left. Huh.
COMMANDO: Public baths.
LORETTA: And it's safe to walk in the streets at night now, Reg.
FRANCIS: Yeah, they certainly know how to keep order. Let's face it. They're the only ones who could in a place like this.
COMMANDOS: Hehh, heh. Heh heh heh heh heh heh heh.
REG: All right, but apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, a fresh water system, and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?
XERXES: Brought peace.
REG: Oh. Peace? Shut up!"

I'd probably have "Team America" in there as well.

With you on both accounts. I think "Holy Grail" has its moments of greatness, but it's very uneven (especially the ending) whereas Life of Brian is a complete movie. It also features one of their greatest songs ever. And "Team America" is an instant classic. I actually think another underrated comedy is the South Park movie. Most of my friends were indifferent to it when it came out, I think I was the only one out of all of them that found it brilliant. Parker & Stone are two of the best satirists out there right now.

I think it has to be one of the most underrated films of all time. I'd probably never had heard of it were it not for my cousin; inexplicably, "Holy Grail" gets all the pub. It's crazy how applicable all the jokes in "Life of Brian" are today.

Yeah, someone else mentioned "Bigger, Longer, Uncut," which reminded me that "Team America" deserved a mention. I can't sit through either film for more that a 5 minute stretch without laughing, and I've watched both many times. Have you ever seen "Cannibal: The Musical?"
