They shouldn't make it simply because of Curry. However, I do give a nod to past tournament performance of non major schools. Davidson (and their conference) has been making noise in the tournament for several years despite tough matchups.

The tournament is a show. I want competitive games, upsets from small schools and great performances by star players. Davidson has the chance to provide all of those. If it is a choice between Davidson or someone like Penn State, give me Davidson.
