For board get-togethers, we generally try to dress in costumes that best personify our screen names. It makes it easier to figure out who is who and is a fantastic ice-breaker.

I'll be the giant "V" with a shotgun and knife.

I would think after SHARK and OKC's night of passion, this would be easy.

I hope everyone has fun tomorrow. Someone feel free to have a video camera handy in case any classic bloopers happen. I'd love to see someone get too close to the oil on the lanes and end up on their keester. Toss a couple back for me as well. :salut: :thumleft:

CoF, how weird are they? Despite the location and the fact I bowl at Irving Park Lanes every week, I'm still very iffy about going...I don't know any of the faces behind these posts, and based on what I know about this place, it's not exactly the biggest bowling alley around. There are 16 lanes, not a lot of seats behind the alleys, and not exactly a great deal of space in the bar for guys & gals to sit...

what I would do is show up incognito, decide if you like the motley crew, than either join us or decide you could could do far better than our lovely group... Observe from a distance, see if you like what you see...

On another note, I hope there is decent seating. I don't want to be standing the whole time...

Based on personal experience, Irving Park Lanes ALWAYS has leagues going on every single day & there's not a great deal of space inside. You'll notice I'm NOT on this message board Monday nights, because my league's playing. Waveland Bowl has more room in comparison to the one I go to, plus has tables & pool tables...Just trying to help, folks.

there's no leagues going on Saturday though, I gather that's their slow day...

Actually, that's not quite accurate. They have "Once a Month" leagues that take place on Saturdays, CoF. Space is limited though...

I'm assuming the once a month is not tomorrow. I didn't have any trouble reserving the lanes...

It is Portage Park, CoF, and the park itself is right on the corner at Irving Park & Central...

Ill never forget the Portage Park basketball courts. My ex, a 4' 9" Phillipino, took home a guy that she had just met as he had just beat my ass at bball. The guy was 6'8". How that matches up, I have no idea. Of course, she ended up cheating on that guy with two other friends from band at the same time. It turned out to be a good thing that I dumped her I guess.
