The Lions only have the better option if you assume that Denver wants the #1 pick. We've seen repeatedly in the past few years that most teams have no interest in the #1 pick.
Cutler would be a huge upgrade, but you can't give away a ton of picks for him. That's just giving away the franchise (Herschel Walker)

I agree. I think that a team would have to sweeten the deal with a proven QB and possibly a decent guy on defense. I know I said that I'm not going to be optimistic about this, but I do think that we've got some pieces to bargain with here...

As already stated in this thread, the Bears need to do everything possible to land Cutler. Diabetes or no diabetes, the kid is one hell of a QB and would be the best player at that position that the Bears have seen in a decade.

A decade? He has the chance to be the best Bears QB ever.

He's no Henry Burris.

Sorry to burst your bubble, Bear fans...Jay Cutler's not coming to Chicago! :( The Bears can express interest all they want in #6 in Denver blue & orange, but they don't have nearly enough in return to give the Broncos. I don't think two first-round picks will be enough compensation for Cutler. Your starting Bears' quarterback wears jersey #18, and it's not the guy who bowled at the CSFMB Bowling Event earlier this month. Kyle Orton will be the starting QB for the Bears come September 13th in Green Bay.

The good thing is, 3 way trades are allowed in the NFL, so the Bears wouldn't necessarily have to take on the whole burden. And obviously, Denver is down with the 3-way considering they nearly traded Cutler in one earlier this off-season.

Urlacher would make things interesting in any trade talks. This is not a question of if the Bears have enough to offer Denver. This is a question of if the Bears have enough in comparison to the other teams.

Carolina could very well ship Julius Peppers to Denver.

Julius Peppers has been rumored to be New England-bound. The Carolina defensive tackle wants to play in a 3-4 defense, and I'm not so sure the Broncos play this kind of alignment.

Jason Taylor will comes to the Darkside long before Peppers.

Denver is moving to a 3-4 this year SHARK. I'm with ya here, the only way I see him ending up in Chicago is a three way deal. Carolina, Washington, Seattle and Detroit all might have interest, more to offer and all are in the NFC.

Glazer is reporting the Redskins want "More than a 1st and 3rd" for Cutler."

If this is the case, the Bears definitely should have enough to compete, whether they add another pick, another player or more.

Asking price from Denver is minimum 2 first-round draft picks. IF the Bears have any desire to change that organization around, they had better put together something big FAST, especially since teams like Washington and Tampa Bay have more ammo in terms of what they can offer.

This may be the most outright shocked I've ever been regarding any move any team I follow has ever made. Wait, no, there's no maybe about it.

He's already the most talented QB in Bear history. I can't believe they actually pulled this off.

Has Hub's head exploded yet?

Ron Turner's already sweating at the loss of his last crutch-excuse for his piss-poor work ("He didn't have a real quarterback")
