Kudos to W&S producer Randy Merkin for getting the big names on the show. Again. I'm not a big guests guy... but if you're going to have the hosts try to pull sentences out of the mouths of athletes... at least get the big names and Merkin consistently delivers.

Did you hear Urlacher? He was joking and being one of the boys... until Silvy mentioned that it was the first time he's talked to him in four years. Urlacher, after a nice little stretch, blows it by saying "Don't get used to it." Just as I was warming up to thinking maybe Urlacher had regained some perspective and wasn't going to be so aloof and withdrawn... he reverts to his paranoid, boorish self.

As for Phil Simms... he proved why he's the worst No.1 analyst ever. Silvy gave him a generic question like "What are your thoughts on the Denver-Chicago deal?" ... affording Simms the chance to take it whatever direction he wanted. Simms paused.... "Wow..... I'm not sure....that's a tough question."

Some NFL analyst. The dude had almost 24 hours to digest the trade and offer some thoughts... but he is tentative coming out of the gate and struggles to find words. Phil Simms sucks. Thoughtless hillbilly who should thank God for his good fortune every night his head hits the pillow. Then he can wake up and find the blowdryer to make his '70s feathered locks look their Sunday best.

I prefer the guy who left you voicemails imitating Phil Simms to the actual Phil Simms - if they had booked him, that would have been at least entertaining.

That would be the talented Wheaton Zack... who I'm guessing is still waiting for his dinner certificate for the contributions. No fear, Zack, I'll sent you some certificates when I get my hands on one first week on the new job. Sorry (to all of you who won and didn't receive) the staff was so administratively challenged. Seems like that would be an easy thing to handle, but it never has been... anywhere I've been.

WGCI only hands out GC's to the Moo and Oink, so you'll have to take Zach out for dinner.

Urlacher & Simms back to back, along with ESPN's Mark Schlereth? That's pretty "Coppock on Sports"esque...Nicely done! :D

You realize that "Silvy" & the Trib's David Haugh had the real Phil Simms on, not that guy who left voicemails on "Mac's" old voicemail...He sounded very similar to the CBS Sports' analyst.

That guy who left voicemails on "Mac's" old voicemail was W_Z.

I like you Shark but you probably can omit the quotes when using nicknames or titles. It will save you a couple of keystrokes.

If you listen closely while talking to him, the guy that left voicemails on "Mac's" old voicemail also sounds a bit like "John Clayton". :P

Sorry "Zack", but I can't help it.

Speaking of John Clayton, is it just me or does SCORE update anchor/NBC5 traffic guy Matt Rodewald sound a lot like the ESPN.com NFL insider whenever he does a sports update? :?

Spaulding- If you see me on Monday, you'll find I'm as warm and friendly as apple pie. I like SHARK and just like to kid.

SHARK- I'll have to listen to Rodewald more closely; I never noticed that.

I don't know, Eaglo Jeff, when Matt Rodewald does sports updates on 670 The SCORE, but your best bet is to see him on NBC5 weekday mornings before "The Today Show". Rodewald does traffic on NBC5's local version of "Today", with the Jimmy Fallon-looking Rob Elgas, Zoraida Sambolin, and the pancake serving meteorologist Andy Avalos between 4:30-7a Monday-Friday. If you want a cheap laugh near the end of the Friday show, they do a "Dance Friday" segment around 6:55a or so, and Rodewald's dancing is hilarious!

I had a feeling that was cuming. Funny thing is that some people have told me that I remind them of Biggs.
