SID did you listen to any of the 3-6 show today? Yeah reading other people's descriptions of the show is funny as a fun-bad thing but listening to is is just sad-bad. I don't know if I'll be able to handle listening to it again even though I know it will be short lived with some classic embarrassing moments.

No, I wasn't able to sacrifice my ears today. I'll take your word for it that it was pathetic. I see no reason to tune in to it. I can't listen much of the day, but if I could, I haven't read one reason to tune in. North sucks, Fred and Webby-are they better than Silvy and Waddle? Who's next, are they better than what else is on the air? If not, why tune in? As for the Chet and Boom boom hours, my question is why? I guess this is why I think it will fail, there is no compelling reason to listen to this over the competition. None.

There is one reason and that's from 1-2 between S&W and B&B. I can't handle Murph so I don't have a problem listening to Hood. Pretty sad that their window for many will only be that one hour though or maybe the Fred/Webber show.

SID when the podcast of Boom Boom comes up tonight you have to listen to it. Never in my life did I think a radio show could be this bad. Just do it once and then you'll know what everyone else is talking about and can just listen to the comments on here. Hell, you rag on shows and hosts that a TON of people like, if you listen to this trainwreck it will be like the South Park where Cartman blows a funny fuse and can't laugh any more. All of a sudden you'll love everything on the Score and be president of the Mac ALS. Mac will be your Zuzu's petals from the end of It's a Wonderful Life.

I agree. I only listened to about a half hour but this was all-time bad. Tim says that this "Boom Boom" is a work in progress but I don't know how you fix him. He's a millionaire. You think he gives a shit what Jesse Rogers says to him? He's in LA. He doesn't need this. I still want somebody to explain why they hired him. Tim wouldn't do it. Why does he want to do it? The guy seems happy as hell. Everything his hilarious to him. He loves talking about himself. Loves telling old boxing stories. How this appeals to anybody in Chicago is beyond me. Once again, is he watching the Cubs game out there in LA tonight? Hell no. If I were him I'd be doing lines of Coke and heading out to the strip club.

That's facinating.

Beardown, You are the best interviewer in chicago. You should have a show rather than the talentless never beens that are on now. :)

I wouldn't be this way if I were on the radio. I couldn't do it. I kind of take from Howard Stern. He's the best radio guy ever. He had a way of getting celebrities to answer questions they didn't want to answer. I was always facinated by how he did it. If you listen to him you know what I'm talking about.

Here's an example of how Howard does it. I'm making up Julia Roberts but he's done something like this with celebrities.

Howard - You ever bang a black dude?

Julia - What? I'm not answering that.

Howard - I see. So you're saying you hate black people?

Julia - WHAT? No, it's just too personal.

Howard - It's ok to admit it. Some girls just don't want to bang black guys. It doesn't mean you're a racist. But who knows? Maybe you are.

Julia - I'm not a racist. YES. I have had sex with a black man

Howard - I KNEW IT!!!! Who was it? Denzel Washington?

Julia - Oh my God, I can't beleive you got that out of me. I'm not telling you who it was.

Howard - So you're saying you hate Denzel Washington?

He's the best. You get them on the defensive and then they tell you the truth cuz they feel compelled to do it. It's great.

Beardown, that approach only works if you are dealing with an idiot, which Stern usually was.

Sorry, if they fell for that, they were not very intelligent.

hey timmy,

re-read my first post about you. you add nothing to this discussion except fluff. others here might feel differently and thats fine, but north definely has you trained well. like i said, I don't expect you to be critical of your boss. just stating my opinion and you can't seem to deal with it.

Well, I'm answering some questions. Why would I talk bad about people who have been good to me? I have no reason to talk bad about them. You can say whatever you want, I'm not stopping you, but I doubt you criticize your own employer publicly. You're pretty dense if you expect me to do that.[/quote]

well you obviously can't read. i said for the third time I DONT EXPECT YOU TO CRITICIZE YOUR BOSS. IS THAT CLEAR ENOUGH FOR YOU.

The Boom Boom / Greg Walker exchange was "all-time bad". He may be a work in process and I'll give him the benefit of the doubt but what is he a work in process of? Best case is he learns a ton about Chicago sports and develops a smoother on-air style.

But, the guy is a 50-something boxer living in LA. That's a big journey to get to the best case. Why not get someone a bit more relevant that has a lot less road to travel.

I'm sure he's a great guy to sit at a table in Vegas with, tells some great stories, cracks everybody up with a one-liner here and there but that doesn't necessarily translate to the radio.

I hope they put that podcast up but I doubt they will. He made Joe Cain sound like a Elizabethan thespian.

Why the hell do I want to listen to a "work in progress?" With this supposed exciting new concept debuting, why not hit the ground running with shows and talent that sound good and sound professional? And let's grant that he is really a work in progress and will get better. So what? Whats the upside here? He'll still be a punch-drunk ex-boxer with no real connection to Chicago sports.

Whose decision was it to hire this clown? Hernandez. the money man? Jesse, the programming guy? BeBe, the COO or whatever her made-up title is? Never mind, I think I know.

Hello everyone...so Fred and I are 2 days in and I wanted some feedback from my *favorite guys -sort of sarcastic, sort of true :) We've had some good guests (Hawk, Bruce Weber, Matt Thornton, Todd Hollandsworth, etc.) and a lot more calls and emails then I expected for the first couple of days so I'm pretty optimistic. I feel that the benefit of this message board was never taken advantage of by the major stations so I definitely want to tap into that. Being on the internet all day, you guys really are our target demographic so it would be stupid to ignore you. So if you're able to tune in from 9am-11am, please feel free to give me your feedback on this board. I'm on here atleast once a week, and I appreciate any comments. Thanks again, and I'll talk to you soon.

Much like having Shawn Salisbury do a radio show from his home in Dallas. Made sense right.

They're being nice to us. I don't like it. I like it better when we're the enemy.

Explain that commercial Webber. Who's idea was it to make you guys look like douchebags? What was the message there. Please explain it.

To be honest with you........................I have no idea what the message was in that commercial. I just did what the director told me to do. From my point of view, I'm just glad that we're actually doing advertising!!! I'm not used to this.

No one has to "make" Mike North look like a douchebag. It comes naturally to him.

Thanks. I'm glad that you guys don't know what it was about. I thought it was so deep and maybe I was too stupid to figure it out.

We did many takes...and I'm not going to lie, looking at April Rose over and over isn't a terrible thing. I also agree with the fact that it is true...I do look like a complete douchebag in that commercial:)

I think what we need is a Boom-Boom interview of Devin Hester. That would be special.

I have given it a listen and so far Webby and Fred are decent. And Boom Boom is just as awful as everyone had said. I hope they didnt sign him to any guaranteed money cause if they paired Chet with somebody who is a functioning member of society with a little bit of wit then the show might actually be decent. But Boom Boom makes Hampton seem coherent. Bad hiring decision.
