Derrick Rose the 2nd Best Bull Ever Already? Take it easy! He's not done with his rookie season and he's already the 2nd Best Bull? If there's one thing I haven't seen from the guy who should be the NBA Rookie of the Year, he doesn't defend like his "Airness"...Speaking of MJ, today's the day he scored 63 in a double overtime loss at the old Boston Garden in a playoff game 33 years ago...

First of all, who cares about that game? They lost.

Second of all...33 years ago? 1986 was 33 years ago? I hope you were just being humorous.

Rose is a rookie. Michael Jordan wasn't a good defender his first year in the league either. The Rose-to-Jordan comparison is apples-to-oranges...and a bit unfair as well.

That's that Chicago Public School math that SHARK was giving....

SHARK attended Friedrich Wilhelm Von Steuben High School, located in the Albany Park section of Chicago's North Side. Other alums inlcude Les "The Grobber" Grobstein, and Lynn Sweet, the "Chicago Sun Times" columnist that covers our first African American president known as Barack Obama.

  My bad, folks...It was 23 years ago today that MJ hit for 63. SHARK regrets the error.

I'm not that much older than you. Theus and Gilmore played in your lifetime.

Gilmore is highly underrated. He is solidly in the 3 best Bulls and yet you never hear about him.

Remember when the Ice-Man George Gervin filled in for MJ--he was DONE but still could Finger-Roll baby--he did drop 40 on someone if memory serves me.

I know, but I didn't watch basketball till 1988. Before that it was all White Sox as far as sports was concerned.

Yeah. The reality is that was the cocaine, orgy and bannana hammock era.

Playoff games were rarely televised nationally and if they were it was on tape delay after the 10 o'clock news.

Good Dolphin, it does seem hard to believe, but when CBS Sports had the NBA back in the early '80s, you're absolutely right regarding playoff games on tape delay. Long before David Letterman & Craig Ferguson took over the 10:35p & 11:37p weeknight time slot respectively, I'm old enough to remember when NBA Playoff games were on CBS at that late hour...

The most amazing part of Derrick Rose's scoring output was that he did it on a team with a bunch of ball hog "me first" NBA players.

Any team with a halfway decent coach would have found a way for Rose to be controlling the ball and either scoring or dishing off an assist.

Even though it ultimately lead to a victory, I was getting pretty tired of watching inferior Bulls players dribble and shoot while Rose played spectator.

It still was an awesome game and I loved watching it but I feel that this Bulls team has the potential to be much better than this if they took advantage of the fact that Boston cannot stop Rose.

Watching Derrick's play on Saturday before fouling out late in overtime was fantastic, and was true to the NBA motto these days..."Where Amazing Happens." He's got a terrific career ahead of him, but take it easy on being the 2nd Best Bull...

Not true. By 1982-1983 with Bird & Magic in the league, there was always at least one Sunday playoff game on live (and many Saturdays). Of course during the season there were only three teams that got televised over the air, Boston, LA & the Sixers. Given that we didn't get cable in the city, we didn't get TBS, the Hawks or their other then late favorites- Seattle or the Nuggets.
