Okay, I take it from your post that sports radio is like Boggle in that if one show covers a topic and/or plays some tape, none of the rest can use that news or tape the rest of the day ... or is it permanently off-limits?

While you bring it up, it's just like channels 2, 5, 7, 9, and 32 nightly news shows .... they all just rehash the same news stories, thus 'morphing into each other'. At least they tend to have different weather reports, because I like variety especially when it comes to radio.

No one ever said that the ratings show that no one is listening. The ratings do show that B&B are getting their ass kicked by the afternoon saloon post Danny Mac...and that B&B have lost listeners. But the ALS still listens to "intellectual" sports talk radio.

Just because sports radio for the most part isn't currently intellectual doesn't mean that sports fans and listeners shouldn't hope for and expect intelligent thoughts on it though. That's why I like B&B so much as they break that mold of typical sports talk subject matter and opinions. If others don't do it I think we should expect and demand better, not accept moronic discussions about how great Orkman is at QB and that we should move Zorich to linebacker.

If you were to trace the history of North bashing on this board you'd find that much of it stemmed from his attempting to broaden his topic base to include politics, society, entertainment,...etc. He proved time & again that his knowledge in these areas was too limited to support the format. The most common sentiment expressed in those threads was that he should stick to sports. Ultimately he burned too many bridges amongst the fans with his ego-driven defiance as his show went down in flames. Now he is on a Danny Bonaduce like mission to try and stay relevant...and it's not working.

1) I was only pointing out the sloppiness of WWN's posit ... my post wasn't a referendum on North himself.

2) If guys are taking the spotsradio thing waaay too seriously, wouldn't that imply that your taking time to point out your concern is seriously being taken more serious, certainly more seriously than our original concern?
