Cool, more afternoon Sox games( This Thursday vs the Twins 1pm) and golf and Hawks road trips then.

I'm confident Mac will be on the air very soon and Speigs and Mac will be a riot together and if our fantasy draft of the last two years is any indication of how they feed off each other than this show will be awefully good. Grid and Scorehead 84 will attest that those two had us in stiches with parody songs and one liners. I would be hard pressed to find a guy who knows more about baseball than Speigs and he knows fantasy football as he'sa bigger version of Brian Sawa when it comes to knowing FF and the NFL in general. ... I just hope I can come on and be the shows Hawks expert and talk pucks during the hockey season.

Slappy leaving the trucking business to a career in sports talk radio. Well I think the degree from Western In law enforcement give you what you need

No two guys ever split sides -- without a drink -- as much as Eddie and I do.

I concur on Slapnuts... He's one of the kindest, most generous people I've ever met also. I'm glad you and he have finally come out of the closet, and are planning on eloping.

One other question Mac:

Why is Bon Scott breaking into Mork at the end of the Highway to Hell album. This is troubling on several different levels. First and foremost is it's the LAST thing he recorded in a studio.

What does Night Prowler have to do with "Shazbot Nano Nano".

Answers mister. I want 'em!

In reading through Mac's responses, it made me think he was negotiating with his suitors in this forum. This comment was interesting, "For the first time since '87, I have warmed up to the idea of considering a career not in media. We'll see". It makes me think that is a tactic because he doesn't have a whole lot of choices here in Chicago radio. Let's be honest, he either has the Score, the webio, or convincing some other station to change formats. By throwing a career change out there, it might up the ante some with the Score.

Agreed - I think it's a negotiating tactic as well.

Bernstein's name came up as a possible partner for Roe after Garry walked.

For some reason, I could see Danny Mac doing well working in a quarry.

I see what you did there, Frank.

I suppose it could be a negotiating ploy. Work Vacation shifts...be the utility host. See what the response is. Makes sense if you can't come to financial terms. Why not? I'd listen.

Regarding the career change: I have a friend who is a professional civil engineer like me. he got his career started a few years before i did. anyway, he was laid-off in january after being the project manager for all the new Cabella's that were popping up across the country. his wife (masters in biomedical engineering) stopped working six years ago when she had their first of three kids. the kids are older now. last semester she taught a class at Marquette. she just got a full time job working with a Professor from England on some neurologic-brain scan shit.
So, my buddy Tom changed his "career." He now builds websites. gardens, plays his guitar, helps out at the inlaws farm, plays with his kids, etc...
Luckily, they have that option.

I think Colorado State is still looking for a short and slow strong safety.

Just had an hour's worth of writing vanish, so I apolojai for not addressing your questions and comments on a more personal level. Here are random thoughts, some of which were unsolicited.

* Say what you will about Mike North and the concept of an internet-only radio operation, early returns on the project are somewhat favorable. Don't like the ads much... but... they are at least promoting the product. From what I've heard, David Hernandez is doing many things in a top-shelf manner and the culture there is good. So far. Yes, I have talked a few times with Mike about being a part of it. I don't dismiss it. I'm not committing to anything right now.

So, would Nort's concept take preference over your future broadcasts desires, given the kudos you extend here? Or is this the reach-around, smoke-up-the-ass, sayonara you're tossing back?

Mac wrote:

Just came on. What makes it overrated? Scorcese? De Niro? The concept? The way it was shot? The artistic direction? A pre-plastic reconstructed Joe Pesci?

Wait...I know, no soundtrack featuring the Stones.

Since you got the time. . .
