10. CW Napkin- My Hangover Pizza. They have all the computer stuff, so I dont need to repeat my address, the pizza gets here quickly and it can be held in one hand when laying down, with a full triangle slice. The pIzza is OK too.

It's a travesty if Aurelios is not put on that list. They only do thin crust but it's the best I've ever had. The original one in Homewood is the best place to get it and ask for the old oven if you go there. They'll do it and the pizza comes out perfect. Way better than the newer conveyors.

Good call on Barnaby's. Ask the guy at the cash register if you can get an extra topping of steroids on you pizza. I have no doubt that place is a mob front. They really have no interest in your business...but the pizza is still good.

Agreed. Hands-down the best Hole-In-The-Wall pizza joint to go to in Chicago. I mean come on, when they serve you scalding hot pizza with plastic silverware and plates, you can't go wrong.

Never been to the one on Clybourn. Only to the one in Morton Grove (not too far west of the Edens & just south of Dempster). I agree though - really really good za!

The Original La Gondola was on the SE Corner of Montana and Ashland. It was a Classic Italian place for 30 years or so. White Table clothes, etc, tremendous food.

Being that is was self considered fine dining, they would not serve Pizza in the Dining room.

You could only carry out from the pickup window around back.

They sold the building and moved into the Shopping center on Ashland & Wellington with the Jewel. (2900 N Ashland)

There is no signature pizza, no gimmick, just a really good solid thin crust pizza.

Peuqods? It's like Bread? Never understood why anyone likes it, but if you do, I am happy for you.

Garlic, feel free to name the "REAL" Pizza you speak of, and I am sorry but I am not flying to Napoli for a slice

Another great hole in the wall is Joe's Pizza over in Wheeling. Not quite as good since they changed the crust about a year ago, but still outstanding. And they certainly keep the dank.

If you like Pequod, you should give Burt's place a try. Burt was the original owner of Pequod and serves a pie very similar to that establishment, but better, in my estimation. Burt's is on Ferris just north of Lincoln. Give it a try.

I forgot to mention that Burt's is unlisted. Here's the phone number: 847-965-7997.

The address is 8451 Ferris and the restaurant is about 1/4 block north of Lincoln in Morton Grove. Ferris runs for about 4 blocks between Lincoln and Dempster. If you know where the Pequod is in Morton Grove, it is only a few blocks away.

If you're planning on going, call ahead. Burt keeps wacky hours sometimes. Burt is kind of an aging hippie and his place is like something out of a distant past--it's a fun little dive of a place. I wouldn't necessarily call it a destination pizzaeria (though many do), but it's about as good as Morton Grove gets, and as I say, better than the Pequod. Burt and his wife are great people.

It's not in the city so may not count in the rankings, but Piero's in Wilmette has an outstanding thin crust. And they don't scrimp on the toppings as so many Chicago joynts seem to do. Their Chicago style and stuffed are ok, but I'm not a big fan of that style so can't rate them.

Last night I tried Apart Pizza. It's carry out/delivery only, over on Montrose and Lincoln. If thin pizza is your thing, give them a try. I thought it was pretty good. Here's a link to their menu.
