Don, if you or any of our fans on this message board have ever watched an episode of "DWTS", the outfits, especially among the women, reveal a lot of skin as is. If it ever went t0pless, the censors would not only have a field day, but the alphabet network would be getting a phone call from the FCC. Shortly after the infamous Janet Jackson wardrobe fiasco at the Super Bowl down in Houston in 2004, CBS got fined a lot of money for indecent material. Even though the fine was recently rescinded I do believe, the networks back then were under such scrunity for the vaguely described indecency policy, that what we saw on TV a few years ago couldn't push the sexual envelope. An example of such fear..."The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show" was off the air for 2 years due to complaints that the show was nothing more than soft porn when it aired on ABC. It has since aired every year on CBS, usually around Christmastime.

- It was a smarmy comment
- Well aware of the Jackson history, thanks ... fortunately, I had just gotten back from living under a rock a couple of days prior to the Houston Super Bowl
- Who needs revealing outfits for 46 minutes once a week on broadcast television when 'the internetz' are at one's disposal?

Things I learned about SHARK today: he's the board's unofficial FCC Historical Custodian.

So its against the rules to show nudity on networks? I always thought it was just an artistic decision not to have nudity.

Bryan, the networks were very afraid to show certain female body parts in the wake of the Janet Jackson wardrobe fiasco at the Super Bowl, circa 2004...Also, let's not forget "shock jock" Howard Stern was also very much affected by the FCC's indecency crackdown, even though the actually wording of what's considered indecent a few years ago was considered vague at best.

Which body parts?

They're commonly distorted whenever it airs...A woman's exposed breasts and butt are commonly distorted on over-the-air TV.

Check this exchange as SHARK tries to Svengoolie quote his way out of hypocricy and ends up leaving us with an odd "I couldnt tell" quote

SHARK let me spell it out for you:

In this thread, you've been complaining about sensitivity and political correctness and people being unable to take a joke. However, a few months ago Krazy Ivan started a thread innocently poking fun at you and you went berzerk over it. You even PM'ed Big Fan several times and pressured him to delete the thread (does the name Nancy ring a bell?).

So SHARK, with the big stink that you made over Ivan's "Nancy" thread I hardly think you, of all people, should be complaining about people being unable to take a joke. You sir, are a hypocrite. Who the hell are you crappin?

  I couldn't tell, OKC...

spmack, moments are intervals of an undefined amount of time. What exactly a moment is is somewhat subjective, as a moment getting your teeth drilled is different from a moment of getting your knob on. That being said, there are great intervals of time and not so great intervals of undefined time, and of all the moments I've had none of these are really "great" per se, but merely adaquate entertainment given my current lack of alternatives.

- I'm half captivated by SHARK
- I've halfway calculated the arc in which to attack him with snarkiness...

- I have to be smart when using my crafty marksmanship...

Etcetera, etcetera...I just felt like rhyming.

SHARK being SHARK, or Rickey being Rickey? Anyway, due to yet another White Sox matinee tomorrow vs. the Tigers, "WYC" is moved again to Friday, same time 5p, same show, same station...

Bryan, this Robin Meade parachute jump with former President Bush Friday on his 85th Birthday is legit. Robin was promoting this jump again this morning on her "Morning Express", and it turns out the elder former President Bush is no stranger to it. This will be his 7th such jump, and needless to say, it's one day the former NBC5 news anchor will never forget.
