Just caught this scene on Encore. It's brilliant. So much is going on. Read what the youtube people say. They break it down better than I could. Not just this youtube cut but there is another youtube piece on this scene where it is discussed. This scene is perfectly written, acted and shot.

My favorite is the one near the opening of the movie with Alec Baldwin, great stuff.

This one's obvious but there were a few classic dialogue scenes in Pulp Fiction.

I always felt that that movie's dialogue was way too forced and contrived. People don't talk like that.
Like just about any Kevin Smith movie. Come on, you kill the believeability when everyone talks like MattInTheCrown.

Yes,Darkside,I agree.
That Quentin Tarentino is one creepy bitch.
He somehow believes that the bullshit his charectars
spew out has any sense or relevance. Check out
the bullshit in DEATHPROOF. It took forever to
get to the action. I was hoping Kurt Russell wiped
out all those girls after having had to sit through
all that QT bullshit dialogoue he has them spit out.

You just been clockin' me.

Let's not forget:

Buck: What, did you have a few drinks this morning? Huh? Yeah, I think you did.
Pooter-the-Clown: What are you? Mother Cabrini? You never touch the stuff?
Buck: No, no. It's just that I wouldn't be drinking if I was going to entertain some kids. You know?
Pooter-the-Clown: I don't have to take this shit from you. You know who I am? In the field of local-live-home entertainment, I'm a god!
Buck: Get in your mouse, and get out of here.
Pooter-the-Clown: Hey, you, let me tell you something you low-life-lying-four-flushing-sack-of-shit...
[Buck punches him, gets back up like an inflatable clown, Pooter groans, Buck punches him again]

My favorite is still the "Equal/Sweet & Low" scene in Swimming With Sharks between Kevin Spacey & Frank Whaley's characters.

I totally forgot about that scene. With the music and the voice over, it had a shawshank feel to it.

All good choices and anything Jason Mewes says is funny.

I enjoy the scene from Good Will Hunting towards the end where the psychiatrist kicks down Will's emotional doors by repeatedly telling him that the abuse his father heaped on him "is not your fault". The scene is heavy with a variety of emotions yet neither sappy nor estrogen laden. The dialogue is minimal but it is perfect.

Here is a scene choice from left field: In The Passion of the Christ, Jesus remembers a moment before his years of teaching. He makes a table that is of normal height by today's standards but much too tall for the time, where people reclined at the table rather than sitting in chairs. Mary takes one look at the invention and says, it will never work and then tells him to go wash up. On the one hand it presents a different perspective on their relationship than we ever really see. However a 30 year old man of mediteranean heritage living with his mom who makes him wash for supper and degrades his work is something that we see in many modern comedies. It being present in this film is hillarious.

I have to pay tribute to my boy, Bill "The Butcher" Cutting.

It is funny how no matter what era in the world we live, there is someone that is thinking the civilization of man is on the verge of destruction. This has to be a very uneasy moment for DiCrapio to listen to Butcher on how he killed his father while in the same dialogue hearing Bill expressig affection toward him as the son he never had.

For me, same movie, but different scene.

Dennis Hopper telling Christopher Walken a story, then asking him, "Now tell me, am I lying?"

That is great cinema.

that is my favorite scene in the film. day-lewis saved that film from being trite. it is not a great film, but he is great in it. a testament to how an actor can be bigger than the movie itself.

Yes, I mentioned the whole movie was one big "quote factory" a few posts up.
Still never get tired of watching it though.
