Maybe my cultural ignorance is showing but as I was driving in this morning I hear Mike having a conversation and I thought it was an interview. I started hearing about performing in a concert and I was just confused. Then Mike finally mentions his name and I was completely dumbfounded. I was like, Who the hell is Johnny Legend? Oh yeah, wasn't he the guy from Mortal Combat? Then I asked myself, "What does this half to do with sports and what do we care about his opinion on comparisons between a musician and a professional athlete.

Again Golic is gone on a vacation day. I swear, between the two of those vacation days, they may actually do a show together half of the year. I used to enjoy them but now they are really starting to crumble.

He's a big time singer...which makes him qualified to sit in for Golic.

Well anyone can sit in for Golic. Then I guess I will claim my ignorance. What is his fan demographic?

I believe he'd be classified as R & B, but I can't say I'm a bigfan, so maybe someone else could clarify.

What pushed you over the edge?

Was it the constant Yankees/Sox talk?
The Steroid talk?
The Brett Farve talk?
The Patriots talk?
The Michael Vick talk?
The Greenie is a metrosexual jokes?

Yeah, he is a popular R&B singer. I have heard some of his stuff, it is ok I
guess. Not really my type of music, although he is a pretty talented guy.
He'll be in town at Ravinia this summer I think. I only listened to about 10
minutes of the show but I was confused why he was sitting in. Does he
even know much about sports? Was he any good in this role?

He really had no input at all. Greeny would constantly ask him to compare to his talent on whatever topic of conversation was being discussed. Like for instance, do you need a championship ring on your resume bring your status level to a legend and do musicians feel the same away with respect to grammy's?

Also as far as fans go where in sports, they get on you when you make a mistake in a game. Greeny how does this compare if he made a mistake during a performance.

Douche- The show is called Mike and Mike, they should call it Mike and Mike 50% because I rarely will hear them together on a show. One of them is contantly out on vacation somewhere. It doesn't seem like they are 100% committed to show anymore and I think it shows with thier dedication.

I woldn't be surprised if their show ends within the next year.

Blame ESPN. It's not his fault. Artists are only interested in promoting albums and tours. So why would he turn down an opportunity for publicity.

I like John Legend. Very talented artist. But there is no way I want to hear him hosting the morning crapfest on 1000.

I never did blame Johnny Legend if you read my posts correctly.

Yeah, you are probably right here Ivan. He was there to promote his
music. I blame ESPN for not putting somebody else in there. They
had Jalen Rose as a guest when in reality he could have been a more
competent co-host. Boy, did I just say that!?

The reason someone with no credibility in terms of sports, like John Legend, can sit in on the Mike and Mike Show is because it really makes no difference. When Golic and Greenberg are there, it's the same watered down, uninformed and unopinonated sports talk anyway. They might as well have a grab bag of guest hosts and just pick a name. Snoop Dogg, John Legend, Darius Rucker....the list could go on. Mike and Mike is not what you should be listening to if you have the least amount of respect for your intelligence.
