Somebody who has been relentlessly pumping North and Webio for the last month here and then mysteriously disappeared over the last few days. He looked almost like a shill sent here to pump up webio's prospects but who knows why he was here pumping? It was pretty easy to tell it wasn't sincere.

He left without saying a word...makes sense...what can you say when you've been pumping relentlessly and then this happens. Smells funny to me.

Geez, a guy goes up to Milwaukee for a crummy Sox game, comes home and all hell has broken loose!

Wow.

Nothing much to add at this point; you guys are doing a great job.

Just one thing: How come all us pantsless cretins seemed to see through this stinkin' scam North and Hernandez were putting together, yet all these other radio "professionals" signed on with these lying douchebags who were unrealistically promising pie in the sky? How stupid can you be?

Wouldn't surprise me that Comcast would want to cut ties with this as it gets uglier they likely don't want their name dragged through it. Who can blame them?

I feel bad for Tim, Matt, Hood, and company. I couldn't imagine being without a job in this economy, especially in the media these days.

But at the same time, we all called shenanigans when the webio venture was announced, just as we did with dontfuckme.com. We could smell the shit from a mile away, so why couldn't the others? Now OB and Buffone left SCR to head to webio? What happens to them?

That's why you can look at it the other way for some of these guys. Maybe this was a quick money grab, whatever they got, for as long as they can do it. Some knew this was bullshit and they had no options. That was probably the case for Hood, Chet and George.

Weber got a chance to host a show. He can put that on his resume. He said he was only a part timer at the Score.

I think Jesse could have stayed at the Score. I think they liked him as the baseball reporter. I think he lost the most for following his Pappy.

Boom Boom is rich. Doyle has his "Big Ten Net" job.

Fred had nothing going when they called him. He was a last minute replacement. Buffone never even started there.

Guys like Hood, Fred, Geroge are legit. I don't think they're gonna have a hard time finding another gig. Now maybe the gig may pay them 25k a year, but that's better than nothing. North on the other hand is just a fucking scumbag. After this, who the hell would trust this guy. Does he think people are so stupid to buy that he will be the savior of webio and find out 'WHO' was behind the bouncing checks when his checks didnt bounce. It's a history with this guy. When he takes money from charitable organizations who pay him for an appearance, and he doesn't show up for that appearance, and they want their money back and he tells them no refunds, you know he is a low class scumbag thief.

It's hard to feel bad for people that leave a job, in this economy, to go out and try to make more money in a market that isn't proven (sports radio that isn't on radio).

I feel bad for anyone that lost their job, but not a good time to make a VERY risky career move.

This is the worst time since Marconi invented the radio to be looking for a radio gig. Many of these guys will be doing something else by the timethey find a new gig. Frankly they'll be better off.

Most of us knew the bubble would eventually burst, but I had no idea it would be so quick. Everybody gambled, everybody lost. There's no Santy Claus.

These guys jumped on the North bandwagon and knew what they were getting into. They all knew about his trouble at SCR. They knew about the failed Dontfademe. They knew his track record. They could have tried something else. They could have "figured it out". Do all of you apologists feel so bad for those that jump into a restaurant venture only to lose their job because most restaurants fail? That was their choice. We are to feel sorry for them because they CHOSE to follow North and got what most predicted? They knew the risks. I feel sorry for them but I wont lose a wink of sleep. Lots of people lose REAL jobs every day and they adapt. Get another gig. Work two gigs. But by all means stay the fuck away from anything involving MIke Fucking North.

I really hope they land on their feet. I believe most of them have the talent to do so.

Congratulations to those of you being asshats, there is a whole new group of people that don't like North very much, you have more company.

You play with fire and you'll get burned. North burns a lot of people and THEY ALL KNEW IT GOING IN! They ALL did.

Race car drivers could die and some do. THEY ARE MEN AND THEY KNOW IT GOIN IN. DONT feel bad for these guys. If they were smart, they knew the risks and had other options. If not, then they will learn from this and it will make them better in the long run.

I am shocked! I was on the board earlier today before all this happened, but did not check the board until 1am in the morning to discover it went down. I'm speechless.
It really is a shame. It could have meant future employment for other radio people.
Guess it's back to Gibsons, searching for another sugar daddy for Jen!

Any chance of this being a well orchestrated publicity stunt? I guess, we'd have to wait and see until dust settles. Hopefully Mac gains and shares some insight come Monday morning.

Anyone who looked FOR ONE SECOND at the dontfademe.com debacle--not to even mention all North's other shit--and said, "Hmm, yes, I'd like to hook up with MIKE NORTH on some new and risky venture that he and some equally shady character named David Hernandez say is the next big thing, deserves no sympathy. I'm sorry if saying that makes me a bad person; it's the way I feel. Do I hope these people recover nicely and succeed elsewhere and nothing bad happens to them? Of course, especially the young guys. But as for this hopefully short detour in their lives and careers that they may now have to endure for believing in Mike North, they could have read this board and got some pretty sound advice for free--STAY AWAY FROM MIKE NORTH AND HIS "PROJECTS". He's stupid and he's a bull-shit artist and that's a dangerous combination.

Went out for the evening and missed the epic collapse of a pseudo-radio station. That doesn't happen often.

This sucks, and like the rest of the board, I hope these guys land on their feet. North and Hernandez can get fucked, though.
