North has a fantastic ability to summon funds and freebies from suckers who either feel their jollies fulfilled in being associated with his glory or truly believe in the scheme he is peddling. This is show biz, this is how it works. Vanity is a strong motivator for a lot of people and North knows how to fruitfully exploit it.

If I were a real estate or other pyramid scheme peddler, I would have loved to have North working for me.
