I don't know how it can survive. I'd be shocked if it's still here on Monday. What sponsors would want to give money to Hernandez after reading all of this shit?

This is all on Hernandez the more I think about it. Pappy is stupid. That's his crime. He trusted this guy and convinced others to trust him. But they're all big boys. They all made the choice to sign up. For some, like we've said, it was "what the hell" nothing to lose. Some had more to lose.

you are 100% right, but guilt by association is going to hurt pappy here and thats to bad.

I guess we were all wrong on one aspect. It was Hernandez who suckered North. Mr. Street smart got suckered? In the end, they both lost anyway.

Well...i doubt pappy knew anything about this, but I am going to wait, because you never know, but like u said, in the end, they all lost.

As do I...but how, is it going to survive if the CEO is the one cutting bad checks? Where is the money going to come from for their next paychecks? How many sponsors are dropping because of this?

i said i hoped, but i also think it will be very hard, because this all thing is far from over and i still dont know if pappy is out of the woods on this thing. Not because he did something wrong on purpose, but because he might have done something wrong because he isnt the businessman he thinks he is, the next few weeks will tell.

I just wonder what the good fathers at Notre Dame High School are thinking of all this.

"Fadder, I swear, I didn't know nuttin' about dis! I didn't know dis was all a big scam an' MMMMY GUYYYYS weren't gonna get paid!"

"All right now, Mikey, my son, say 3 Our Fathers and 2 Hail Marys and everything will be just fine. And by the way, how do we look at point guard this coming year?"

North - a senior executive in the firm according to the media and the websites - and his wife - the COO - are as guilty as Hernandez. It's that simple - senior executives can not simply pull a Sgt. Schultz ( I know notihng). They are part of it and need to tell everything they know. It's either admit guilt or admit to being a stooge - and something tells me North's ego won't allow him to admit he was taken (after all, he didn't need college, he's street smart).

Don't worry, the defense Dept. has direct orders to waterboard all partiess to get all of the info we need to jail this POS. You'll never be able to trace it back to me, though. I'll just blame it on Bush.

You are wrong. Next Step Financial Services is what is being examined. That's why 'investors' are coming forward.

North has nothing to do with that side of the business.

I still don' get why the management at ND is allowed to continue - when their "leadership" tied them to a confessed 'drunk" and high school dropout who does not see the value of college.

As I parent, I sure want to spend 11,000 a year based on that endorsement!

All of us Chicagoland collies are happy you North stalkers have something else to do this weekend other than molesting us this weekend. We needed a break.
Thank you Mike North and the Webio, you both are a dogs best friend.

In the Suntimes article, Hernandez admitted that North was nothing more than a simple employee, which to me his an admission of him being responsible for the bad checks. I think North is guilty of wanting this Webio thing to happen so bad that he rushed into business with this guy and was dumb not to think twice about why a guy running a Medical Staffing business is investing so much money in an internet radio station. Numerous people on here questioned it right away, so why didn't North. North has a tremendous ego and rubs a lot of people the wrong way, but in my opinion he made a really, really dumb decision getting into business with this guy. To me, that doesn't make him guilty or a crook.

What a load of shit....North is an assistant basketball coach....he is a VOLUNTEER.....He is not running around telling the kids to drop out of high school and get a job dressing hot dogs at Booby's on Milwaukee Avenue.

Where do you get off on this phony holier than thou attitude?

North has a lot of faults....AS WE ALL DO...EVEN YOU!!!!

As a parent with your unrealistic attitude, your kids are getting over on you left and right.

Let's be realistic....Mike North is what he is...a high school dropout and not the most sophisticated guy out there.....In street terms, he is a Hustler.....a lot of the guys here screaming to high heaven about him now were all enamored with him and Da Coach when they began hustling YOU.....and then Mike North gets together with PETE ROSE.....2 gamblers...2 hustlers....and you have just got to believe that North didn't believe a word out of Rose's mouth as he defended him on air for at least 2 years....BUT IT WAS AN ON AIR HUSTLE.....
North is unlikely to be considered by the College of Cardinals in the next Papal election.....but he is hardly the devil incarnate...
In his endless vanity and attempt to portray himself as some sort of Wise Guy-Rat Pack member, he has made himself into a cartoon character....simple as that.

Jiggs -Hmmmmm. Mikey, what happen?

On my Comcast menu the Monsters is not listed all week. Neither is their rebroadcast from 11pm- Midnight. "Sports Rise" has replaced it in the morning. "Chicago Tribune Live" has replaced it in the evening.

As a parent, if I saw this guy promoted this so called learned institution, i have second thoughts about my child going there. Why? easy - it shows they do not care who they associate to drive attendance - and i would not want my kid to be with those who think North is role model.

So - ask yourself - what type of people want to send their kid top a place where this guy is the spokesperson? Better yet, the volunteer b ball coach is someone who never played high school ball at the varsity level? If your kid was good, does that resume give you confidence that your kids will develop?

Perhaps, Aggravated, you would want Mike to give your kid some insights in developing a long term strategic business plan?

Here's how and why I blame North more than the news outlets seem to be putting on him. North obviously has the ability to get the stupid to adore and support him both publicly and financially. He conned Hernandez into thinking he had his magic Rolodex of advertisers just waiting to cut checks. All of his previous statements on this during his Score days and during the fallout last year proves it. Hernandez, obviously not the best businessman in the world, agrees to no only hire a few guys and start small but to hire a whole staff RIGHT AWAY and also offer 2 year contracts to these guys, most of which would have begged for airtime and a regular paycheck. There is some talent there but most were castoffs from 670 and 1000.

So guys like Weber, George, and Hood jumped ship seeing that the owner of what looked like a good sized business was backing it. And even though they probably all think North sucks at radio they still thought his name held a bit of weight to get the thing started. North used his influence and mastery at truth distortion to fool Hernandez into getting way over his head financially on this gig. On the other side he did the same to his long time colleagues and "friends" just to feed his ego that he could headline another station so he could get back at the Score. I also won't be surprised if a lot more nasty stuff comes out about North's involvement but either way that's what happened.

Also and importantly, it's the only reasoning I can think of that North, BeBe, and Spaceball were all FIRED. They didn't get fired for sending an email, they got fired for selling Hernandez a bill of goods that was nowhere near what was promised. North sold himself then pushed BeBe into the mix and obviously got Spaceball in there. 3 of the biggest salaries of the 30 are ALL on North and the place was hemorrhaging money. And those were the only 3 to be fired. Nobody else. Yes Hernandez sucks for not seeing through it and probably many other misdeeds but North took advantage of everyone involved which is why in one short weekend he has lost both his TV and radio gigs. He was fired for being incompetent and conning Hernandez. He also conned his supposed friends who are now in awful spots in their lives and careers. I'm surprised people aren't coming down on him harder. I feel awful for guys like Weber but we were (myself included) practically pleading with him on this board a few short months ago to stay the hell away from this thing.

Dumbass, they are all owned by the same company.

Actually, Thyssen Krupp is a very large customer of ours. Every T-K elevator contains our connectors.

Pay attention. The issue was whether North is in legal trouble or not. North has NOTHING to do with Nextstep. Dumbass...

Dumbass, you dont know exactly whats going on, and in all honesty, nobody but DH does, so until everything comes out, find a glass Coke bottle to squat on, dry hump a belt sander, or get a dildo shaped scowering pad to analy play with.

Like the FBI is really gonna say who they are looking for, moron.

I have lurked a long time on this board and have always found the Mike North hate on here fascinating. I am neither a fan or a hater. I'm indifferent to him, but I don't think he would scam people. What would he have to gain? So, I had to ask a question to those people who are buying Hernandez story about the frozen assets. From reading the articles, it seems like 12 checks bounced the previous week and then 30 this week. So, if all his funds were frozen like he claimed, wouldn't all of them have bounced the previous week, when the 12 bounced. If 12 checks bounced and the rest went through, that means insufficient funds, not frozen assets.
