I'm with you. North on Roe Conn said all Hernandez told him was get the best talent and he'd back the station. So while Hernandez surely conned North, North conned (of a much lighter variety) him by instead just getting SCR and MVP rejects and has-beens.
The reason to be skeptical about this venture from the get-go was not just the industry or the limitless-investor-out-of-nowhere, but the fact that it was simply a bad product. Maybe so bad that it sped up the unraveling process of Hernandez since Mike's promised income was likely a crock too, to the point where Hernandez couldn't even buy more pianos with it.
