So, one thing I have not seen discussed is the "big fish" sponsor that North was able to bring to Comcast Sports - Next Step Medical Staffing. Is this a real business? Are they still operating? Has anyone here had any dealings with them - know someone who works there, or know where they supply "staff" to?

Obviously Webio is gone, the site has been wiped, so I'm wondering if one of Banker Dave's other businesses is still up and running?

(seems fitting to have Next Step over Daley's shoulder)

On a side note, why did they have some 'net company out of Iowa running their website?

This is a real business, and I know of someone who used to work there.

It better be real, I ordered an MRI machine from them a week ago!

I have a lot of room in my condo and it was either that or a pool table.

I ordered a team of nurses with low to no moral standards to wash my car. They said the limo left the building but ran out of gas somewhere on W Washington Street. They are waiting for Davey to come back to the office because he keeps the triple A card in his wallet.

Not many men in your profession, though, are there, Greg?

I don't know if we are really experts at that...heard too many stories about houses blowing up because someone did something they shouldn't have...

So someone pulled the plug on the webio website several days ago - I'm guessing the hosting company (as they probably realized that they were not going to get paid anymore, although I guess it's possible that the authorities might have ordered it taken down.

That said, why is the Next Step site still up? http://www.nmsstaffing.com/ I'm guessing this whole thing was a bit of a front, but it is impressive what Hernandez was able to do (get that fairly prime office space, pull the wool over everyone's eyes etc).

Would love to hear what a "former" employee has to say about Next Step - or, better yet, someone call them up and see what the dealio is.

Just did a quick check, and I have a couple of questions.

Code:
Registrant:
NextStep Medical Staffing

Domain Name: NMSSTAFFING.COM

Administrative Contact:

Technical Contact:

Record expires on 08-20-2009
Record created on 08-20-2008

1. Why are there two "s's" in the URL? That is, if it's supposed to be short for NextstepMedicalStaffing -- why wouldn't it be nmstaffing? Is there a reason, or was he that dumb when he set it up? Or was it that hard to struggle the URL away from whatever bogus "talent" firm has the nmstaffing.com URL?

2. I know websites/domains are created all of the time, but didn't anyone ever think to check "how long" the website of the big money guy had been around? Registered it in August of last year, and only paid for 12 months???

Those staffing/ placement firms make a lot of money especially in demand fields and when skilled labor markets are tight (IE Nurses, or certian technology fields). Now we are in a recession and jobs are few and far between I think staffing firms are having a hard time finding clients/marks to serve. What happens is when a staffing firm wins a hire some get commsion of 1 years salry of the potential hire or a huge commission bonus... As some companies see it as hard task to find qualified canidates that they value recruiters who can place the right person to the job.
