Woke up in the middle of the night and to my surprise actually heard live local sports talk on the Score.

More surprising was tier willingness to talk extensively about the webbio demise. Rock gave the background on North leaving the Score, a listing of the North failures, and that all of this was a way to get at CBS. He and Jay blasted the North's for not doing due diligence, and for leading others into this.

The biggest lambast: that both felt the TV show must go,that it was a crime that he's still on the air and after all this , the only one still working - North. Rock's comment - that North is dead in this town, and will never work in radio here again.

The other guy's name is Zawaski, but's that ok. Point Taken.

Yeah, I told Rock that I would listen, but I fell asleep after doing laundry (quite a Saturnight night for me ).

But I could tell in Rock's comments on the board that he felt that way, and its good to see that he didn't pull any punches last night. I hope Beardown the Donkey appreciated that!

Rock agrees with me about the North situation. People can say its not his fault, but to see him and his brown teeth and his expensive Affliction T-shirts yukking it up on TV while others have to try to scramble for jobs just doesn't seem right to me. And If I can have a "Beardown" thought for the moment, I think a lot of these guys (Hood, Weber, Bock, Goffman) are afraid to say anything about North because they feel as though North will try again to build up another webio station and those guys - provided they stay positive about North and BeBe - will be back working at the next webio.

If they are THAT stupid to follow him AGAIN? I don't feel sorry for them one bit. Some it might be their only option; but anyone in that group until the age of 40 who thinks they need to keep hitching their wagon to the fallen star that is Mike North are morons.

He NEVER was that powerful in Chicago radio; Hall of Fame be damned. (And honestly, I think that's when North's ego got out of control. I should see if I have that letter I sent to WSCR upon his departure.)

Hey guys, that was actually Joe Ostrowski last night. I agree, it was nice to hear Score programming that late.

I'm glad Rock didn't pull the ultimate stupid and went to webio. With family and new baby that would have been a disaster. Congrats on getting some extended air time, Mamola. I had the radio on (FM-HD) but ended up going to bed before Rongey signed off.

Kudos to Rock. I've bashed many times for defending North. Finally someone come balls out. Finally. Rock- come back and let us know when you'll be on. I'll listen for sure. And again- Great JOB!

Must have been tought for Rock to defend North as the mike north morning show crashed and burned. The north morning show is some of the worst radio, not just sports radio, ever. Wish the best for Rock as all of us have had to try to defend bad bosses in an effort to insure a steady paycheck. Handing the keys over to north nearly killed the score. With Mac back there is cause for optimism.

personally I have zero interest if I get my face on tv...and no desire to have my own radio station. That still allows me to have the opinion that Mike North is a piece-o-crap...and he "lured" others into his shit hole with what turned out to be false promises.

I went to a drive in movie in the far flung suburbs so I was able to sample Rock and Joe for a good hour. I liked the show and loved local overnight broadcasting. I was home before any North comments.

I was going to call in as everyone in the car was asleep, but I didn't want to wake them up. As the local overnights start to get known again, I hope the late night crank callers start to emerge.
