Maybe I will get the meatball call here, but I enjoy 'guy talk', which really is what sports talk has evolved into. Sports, Food, Movies, Hot Chicks,Drinks, Stogies.
I can match my listening habits to the guys with larger 'Guy Factors' and 2 of the highest Guy Factors are Mac and Jurko.
I think Jurkos deal is up soon and he is the only reason I tune into CJH now.
Outside of an option from ESPN, I would think he is in the catbirds seat on this new deal.
ESPN losing Jurko puts them one step closer to becoming WGN radio. Carmen, Harry & Dickerson? Sorry, I am just never tuning in.

If Waddle will accept the change, Waddle and Silvy will be the next afternoon team.

Jurko's leverage is that he has plenty of FU money from his football days. He couldn't spend all the money he made in a lifetime if he chooses to continue to live in hillbilly hell.

I am a Jurko fan. The guy is smart in the ways of the world and how the business of sports works. He has common sense. No, he's not an expert at anything but football, but I don't really care. Hope he winds up somewhere on the dial.

You're lkidding your self if you think Jurko has any leverage. There are dozens of palooka ex jocks that could overfill that chair easily.

Jurko will go the way of OB, Buffone, McMichael, Hampton, et. al.

This is why you have no creditabilty and are the dumbass of the board. Do you ever really think before you post a dumbass comment like this you limpdick douche?

Jukro was a driving force on one of the most popular afternoon radio shows in Chicago and has a fan base of both Chicago and Packer fans and has insight to the current NFL teams. The has beens you mention in the same breath with Jurko have never been successful in radio and can't relate to todays NFL fans because thet are so far removed from the game. Jurko is being wooed by the Score and you're a fool if don't think they want him paired with MAC....I have a good source that tells me Jurko has already met with 670 so keep on posting your douchy I know it all garbage you Caller Bob.Shock mthe world and post something with insight and you should be embrassed to even post here.

Wow.

Driving force. You make me laugh. A fat dick of an ex jock sleeping and farting his way through afternoon drive every day. There's a hot commodity.

Jurko isn't even an ex-Bear. He adds no value. At least McMichael will tell a halfway interesting story once in a while.

Jurko would be lucky to get the pittance that Meatpants gets.

He is not going to answer. I have asked him questions regarding people in radio he may actually like, but he ignores them. It is much easier for him to sit and wallow in his sad existence throwing stones at others.

+1

I actually agree with you Gloopan

jurko is a lazy and predictable radio guy... most of the time he sounds like he doesn't even want to be there. And once Carm took over the wheel to the show jurko immediately started to come off as a jackass, I hope that the score doesn't sign him...

I do enjoy his expertise during the season, but once football is over, he is useless...

And being an Ex-Bear, is the ONLY reason why Mongo, Hampton, Buffone etc are able to get radio gigs. Jurko is not a "driving force", but he is certainly better than the aforementioned ex-jocks on the air. He's geniune and a good #2 guy.

You're as sharp as a marble.

Stu on the muscle today. Jurko was a good second bannana but Mac was the driving force behind the show but Jurko does bring a lot more to the table than just Bears chatter but I think he would be a good addition to Mac's new show. I'm not over the top with Matt just yet but I agree with many here that the show needs a thrid whell and Jurk would be a solid 2 or even 3 guy.

Jurko seems to be the only fit with Mac at this point and I would agree that he seems out of place without him. Gloop is just here to throw things against the wall to see what sticks and really has not had a thought provoking post in about a year or so.

Genuine what? Lazy asshole?

He does no prep and never has a coherent thought on any subject. He couldn't think of an original nickname for himself so he stole Lou Boudreau's "good kid".

He's worthless.

It's more than that. I think he might be somebody Mac knew in high school. In a page and a half of his early posting days there are 4 references to Highland football and I know he has made a few references recently. It's like he is stuck on it, because as a joke it's not that funny.

I don't know what is more sad. The fact for 2 years he comes here, makes the same joke that was mildly amusing the first few times but is no longer funny, gets told to STFU by STU, and is entertained by this or the fact that he might be pissy about something from over 20 years ago. Then he ignores questions like the one I asked. What ever floats your boat but it seems like a stupid and pathetic way to spend one's time.

Gloop can you take this quiz for me? http://www.golivewire.com/forums/viewqu ... ction=6210 I bet I know the results.

Jurko will be fine. Don't discount the fact that he's beloved in the land of cheese too.

The demise of Webio and the recessing depression don't mean he has no leverage.

What impact on advertisers does being loved in the land of cheese have?
Most of the sponsors are local.

I'm pretty sure Wisconsin has its own sponsors. Jurko played up there, and has had radio gigs up there in the past, mr wizard.

Francis,
Your knowledge of advertising is only surpasssed by your baseball acumen.
That was sarcastic.
Actually, your ignorance is only surpassed by your repulsive personality.
That was a fact.
Wisconsin has its own sponsors?
We are talking about WMVP, which has a relatively poor broadcast range, by the way.
What does Wisconsin having its own sponsors have to do with anything in relation to a Chicago station?
What does Jurko's playing up there and being on radio up there have to do with being on WVMP in Chicago?
Go start a band that somebody wants to listen to.
