It's supposed to be what you believe will happen. I don't feel like picking the Tigers in the A.L. Central, to try to be ahead of the curve, if I don't believe they will win it. I picked the teams I see winning. You wanna pick the Orioles to win the A.L. East, be my guest.

My predictions for Major League Baseball 2009 are as follows:
A.L. West: Anaheim (NOT LOS ANGELES) Angels
A.L. East: Boston Red Sox
A.L. Central: Minnesota Twins
N.L. West: Los Angeles Dodgers
N.L. East: Philadelphia Phillies
N.L. Central: Chicago Cubs
A.L. Wildcards: Cleveland Indians
N.L. Wildcards: New York Mets
World Series: Angels/Dodgers, Anaheim wins it all!

Did MLB change up the rules and now there are 2 wildcard teams from each league? :?

FewOpinions, it was absolutely dumb for Angels' owner Arte Moreno to rename the team as the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. I realize he was trying to tap into the L.A. market when he decided to rename his team and remind baseball fans that the Dodgers aren't the only team that plays out there. They still play in Anaheim, which is supposed to be different than L.A., much like Oakland & San Francisco are supposed to be 2 different cities. They were renamed as the Anaheim Angels when the Walt Disney Company, owners of ABC/ESPN of course, owned the team in the '90s. In reality, FewOpinions, I wish that team NEVER changed its name.

yes, it would be a real feel-good story to see him come back from that horrific .290 20 homer 90 rbi season.

there are a few not-so-subtle jabs/jokes in there...
lighten up :drunken:

seriously, though, i do expect this to be the year that the royals finish not 5th, not 4th, but 3rd in the AL-C.

i'm telling you guys, you need to throw at least one surprise team in there.

the marlins will win the nl east. or, the braves.

or, the astros will win the central.

it's been happening too often to ignore it.

I agree. That is why I picked the Rangers to win the AL West.
