Sounds like the lady that was found with him shot him a few times, then shot herself. The gun was found next to her body, and she had one wound.

It seems hard to believe, but Steve McNair was one of the last draft picks of the Houston Oilers before they became the Tennessee Titans in the early '90s. Steve guided the Titans to the 1999 Super Bowl and came thisclose to beating the St. Louis Rams in the Super Bowl on the final play of regulation that year. Even though the parting appeared to be ugly between McNair & the Titans, he resurfaced with the Baltimore Ravens if memory serves before he ended up getting released about a year or two ago. McNair was only 36 years old when he was shot to death...
