Stone Brewery out of San Diego makes Arrogant Bastard and other awesome beers - but they do not distribute in Illinois. You can get them in NW Indiana or Wisconsin though. Well worth the trip across borders to get some.

Last evening (thus the reason for a few drunk texts... sorry...) I discovered the Bells Oberon mini-keg. $19.00 at Woodman's or $20.00 at Binny's.

Unfiltered wheat ale.

I hope my Binny's carries it. I need a Oberon fix.

You can order Arrogant Bastard online and have it shipped to you. Here is the link:

Many thanks to Coach Crapowski (his mama call him Crapowski, I'm gonna call him Crapowski) for this life changing suggestion.

I've already bought out the local liquor store of their supply. It's a whole different type of beer drinking experience. :thumleft:

Scrimshaw Pilsner from North coast brewery is a nice lighter beer that can be enjoyed in the summer. You can find it at Binny's.

Also if you can find it Iron city is also very good. I find it at the Binny's over in Algonuin all the time and it doesn't seem to be old/stale.

Tried Victory Brewing Company's Hop Devil last night. 6.7% alcohol and just the like name says, it's very hoppy. I'd get it again but maybe in the winter, I am a sucker for the lighter, amber beers in the summer.

Gun's avatar is total win.

I really drank a lot this weekend...I did Bigfoot Ale, Oberon, Quail Oak Merlot (cheap and great), Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, and I even drank one of my roommate's german beers...

i was in my own twilight zone watching "twilight zone" yesterday on scifi (syfy july 7th).

You are welcome. It's an intense brew. One 22 oz-er definitely gives me a nice light buzz. One inportant consideration: I don't consider Hop Juice a beer suitable for social drinking. Too good to share.

My bad Chus. Maybe if the search functioned worked you would have been properly credited but then I would have had no need for this fine thread.

Where is the little pub that these guys run? I assume they have all their brews there. I'm interested in trying the Domaine DuPage next.

It's all good. I was a consumer since their first batch was released I think in 2006 or 2005.

If anyone wants to check out the brew pub, I will meet you up there. It is only a ten minute walk from my house. W_Z went with me and a few buddies, when they had the Hop Juice release party in early June.

Here is a link for the brew pub.

I had this beer over the weekend and I figured I'd share with you all. They have this really clever way of letting you know that its good and cold, and that is that some art thing on the side of the can actually turns blue when its OK to drink. I guess if there's no blue, you shouldn't drink it. I think its made in Colorado or something. But it was great! :P

I would love to go there - both times I have planned for a Saturday trip out there work got in the way. :x

I bought a 1/6 barrel of the Domaine Dupage (only $60 at Binny's!) and brought it to a party on Saturday and people couldn't believe that it was a local beer and how good it was. It was dry within an hour and a big hit.
