John Kass co hosted with Mully this morning. He was entertaining and informative. It struck me that North wanted to do a political discussion show and did not have a guy like this on with him one single time over 5 or so years of broadcasting. It just further disspells the Jiggles rolodex theory and highlights North's lazy broadcasting habits while hosting the morning show.

I like Kass and some of his Chicago musings. The problem is Kass has no interest in placating North's BS. Those two egos even for 5 minutes would have been a yelling match unless they stuck to White Sox love. Not every North interview was a winner, but he did have his moments. I don't think North could have handled being upstaged by someone who has a different view of Chicago Way and can communicate it more effectively.

Kass is a rather intelligent practitioner of White Sox love. He has a very good memory of the past, season tickets, and watches the games. North does not.

Great radio. May not have been the most exciting/shout-y/grabass-y radio, but I enjoyed it after an unnecessarily early post-holiday wake.

I'm really angry with myself because I didn't realize it was Kass until around 8:15. I turned it on around 7:30 but it was just background noise while going through my morning rountine.


I need to do my job A LOT better.

Agreed, it was not helping me get up this morning. But now listening to the podcast after I'm already awake and it's been good.

So you'd prefer North? Murph? Shear? Bear and the Bull? Not sleepy but bad!!!My god what do you want? Silly loudmouths or an informative talk sports show. Chicago radio deserves descent knowledgeable sports hosts and we get it and some complain.

I guess some of you guys actually miss North. I'd like to say its because even though you thought he was dumb, it was at least entertaining to hear what dumb thing he'd say next. I guess the dumb "superfan" stigma in this town is somewhat deserved.

It embarrasses me.

What does one have to do with the other?

easy Belvidere. I'm a Mike and Mike transplant since North left the Score. I like Mully and Handley just the way they are.

sleepy...meant it was hard to get up this morning with the smooth deep voiced Kass whispering in my left ear.

Why does it have to be an either/or situation? Can't there be an informative show that does not have silly loudmouths and is not boring?
